God's Grace keeps on giving the Blood

Sorry, it seemed to me that you were saying the opposite, that we do not have a sin nature.

    The real gospel.

Okay cool. I just know that it is an atheistic argument that they say that Hammurabi had better laws than were given to Moses by God; and they use this concept to undermine the Bible as being the inspired word of God. You were probably unaware of that; so all is forgiven!

    The real gospel.

It is possible that Hammirabi would have gotten the law from God before God gave the law to Moses. But, I would say that there are certain aspects to the law of Moses that were not covered in the law of Hammurabi; and that the law of Moses is superior to that of Hammurabi's code. Now if you...

    The real gospel.

Hammurabi got his laws from Moses, or from the God of Moses.

    The wrong Cross

Actually, one of my main goals in preaching (which may not be your specific calling) is to preach the law as a schoolmaster to lead men to Christ (Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:20, Psalms 19:7 (kjv)). Psa 19:7, The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure...

    The real gospel.

Moses received the law of the LORD directly from the LORD...not from Hammurabi or any other human law-maker. Any other pov is distinctly un-Christian.

He's from Indonesia...they may not have the fulness of what you and I understand to be gospel truth, @Enoch111. They very likely think on an entirely different spectrum from us as Western Christians who have been privileged with strong teaching from the Bible and a church on ever corner. Br...

    The wrong Cross

Victor Jedidiah is a pen name of mine. So Wet Paint Principle (Freedom) is my work. Also, I tend to go by the kjv; but will simply reference a verse or passage if the Bible that is utilized by this message board does not contradict it.

    The wrong Cross

Sin takes advantage of the law in order to produce in you all manner of concupiscence (Romans 7:8). Without the law the element of sin is dead. The motions of sins, that bring forth unto death, are by the law (Romans 7:5). If you can get a hold of these truths, it will transform your life...

God's Grace keeps on giving the Blood

It seems to me that you think that people who look to the word for guidance do not actually have a relationship with the Lord. That is a misinterpretation of John 5:39-40. Jesus is not physically in front of us so that we can consult Him personally (2 Corinthians 5:16). He has given us His...

    Sufficency of Scripture

It would seem that you think that people who hold the Bible to be the word of the Lord do not have Christ. That is a misinterpretation of John 5:39-40. It should be clear that every true, born again believer in Christ holds the Bible to be the inspired word of God; and also that every true...

The law is in fact written on the hearts and minds of New Covenant believers (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16).
