The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

You will know them by their fruits...and I wouldn't say that pedophilia is good fruit. People are judged and/or justified before man by the works that they do (Romans 4:2). A biblical case can be made for Oneness Theology...so believing in the Oneness view of God is not necessarily inventing...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Act 22:16, And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. It is as easy as going into your bathtub and immersing yourself in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. If you come up out of the water calling on the name of...

Amen. The scripture in question is in 1 Corinthians 9:24-26. Apply it as you see fit.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Paul wrote that we are to run the race in such a way as to obtain the prize...which does not mean that the only way to obtain the prize is to be the first one to cross the finish line, excluding all others.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Salvation is not dependent on our performance; but on simple faith in Christ's performance on our behalf.

It is a different kind of race...we run it as if it were a competition and we want to win...but in the end all who finish get the prize.

It's been said that the blood is in the water. To @mjrhealth.

Your conversation with Helen....I will only butt in if I deem it necessary.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I agree with this concerning Christ's Deity... However, there are those who accept Christ's Deity but deny the Trinity...and while they may indeed be wrong, their error does not place them outside of the body of Christ. Already made a comment about this. What you need to realize is that the...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Technically, there are those who may have fed the homeless who will not enter into heaven because of it: Mat 7:22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23, And then...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Isn't that such good news! It is also an oxymoron....if our position is secure, how can we lose it?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I know that there are many Oneness believers out there who are saved to the bone...and they deny the Trinity (but not the Deity of Christ...which is the real essential here (John 8:24)). There are women who have committed abortion who have become quite redeemed since they committed that act (or...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

None of these are essentials of the faith. Seems to me like the priesthood of all believers is given as a doctrine here: 1Pe 2:5, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wrong...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Works are not required for justification. They are the result of a living faith; by which we are alone justified. If I give $5, or even $5,000,000, to the poor, this is not going to bring about the regeneration of the Holy Spirit in my life (see Titus 3:5). If that were the case, the reward...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Living/saving faith produces obedience: it is an obedient attitude. It is not our obedient actions (works) that save us; but our faith: which is an attitude that results in obedient actions. I find that the majority of Protestant denominations have unity in what we call the essentials of the...

    Judaism or Christianity?

Jhn 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mat 7:13, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Mat 7:14, Because strait is...

And these are not individuals? Who determines who has the final authority? I'm sorry, but I much prefer to believe what the Bible says than to go off galavanting with the ECF's who may have been off-base in anything that they might've said. Also, I will not give the ECF's the same authority...

    What happens when we die?

I agree, @Enoch111, Usually, the traditional interpretation of scripture is the right one.
