For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Well now you have me outright confused!

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I beg to differ (and I have already referenced passages that show my pov quite clearly).

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I will say Holy Ghost, because it is my preference to call Him that for the most part. Tongues, at the very least, are an evidence, as a sign gift to them that believe not (see 1 Corinthians 14:22).

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Sometimes you need to read between the lines, for understanding...see Psalms 1:2-3.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I don't know whether that is true or not true. Can you give me an example besides Acts 2:38-39 (since that scripture is one of my talking points)?

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I didn't say they promised the evidence of tongues. However, if that was what you were looking for, try Mark 16:17 (at the risk of entering into the kjv-only controversy. To avoid that, I am going to say take it or leave it).

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Romans does mention the Holy Spirit, at the very least in Romans 8:26-27.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I think you probably didn't read post #310. I didn't bring up the subject of tongues, you did.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

My believing what doesn't make it true? I don't doubt that you have what you would call spiritual gifts; and that you are not saved by them. However, if they are truly of the Holy Ghost, then they are evidence that you have the Holy Ghost. Of course you don't want to say that the gift is...

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

See Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4, Acts of the Apostles 10:44-48, and Acts of the Apostles 19:6.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

I was actually referring to the fact that the Holy Spirit is absolutely promised to those who fulfill the condition in the conditional promise of Acts of the Apostles 2:38-39 (see also Romans 8:30).

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Hey, I believe that tongues is an evidence of being baptized with the Holy Ghost. It is not necessary for salvation from my pov (1 Corinthians 12:28-30). In my own life I don't know what I would have done without it. At one point it became critical to my own salvation; because the attack of...

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are the same Spirit, the same Lord, and the same God (1 Corinthians 12:4-6). I do see them as being three who are absolutely one and the same Person; but I don't expect you to understand how this translates into the Trinity, because you have never been baptized...

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Not really. I just picture you as looking at me with a certain kind of look as you say what you did say to me...with the look of a narrow-eyed crotch inspector.

I'm going to hit the hay for the night...will pick this up again in the morning.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

I was under the impression that Mormons hold to the view that "Jesus is the Saviour of all men; especially of those that believe," and that they take that verse to mean that no one goes to hell but they go to one of the three kingdoms in Mormonism (I don't know the names of these off hand).

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

I think I disagree with you there, @Enoch111. I personally believe that remission of sins means that they are depleted so that they are no longer a danger to the soul, as is the case with cancer going into remission.

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Seven days without prayer make one weak.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

How does Matthew 7:13-14 apply to certain doctrines in Mormonism that in my mind amount to Universalism? "broad is the way that leads to destruction."

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Then I am unique among my Oneness brothers and sisters...because I see God as being only one Person and yet I see the Father as distinct from the Son as being distinct from the Holy Ghost. As I define in the post above, which I will link again below: For those who don't believe in prophets...
