The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I think it was a defensive reaction to having my world turned upside down at such a young age. It took almost three decades, but I did eventually burn out. Now I don't speak to my mother, father, or sister anymore. Does it hurt them? I know it does, but I just can't bring myself to care...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Catholics aren't Christians? It's either Christian territory or it isn't. That's better than nothing I suppose. But it does little against an occupying force. It is a lie to keep up spirits. They face significant generational attrition. From what I've read, it's swept under the rug. The...

It was also to reclaim Christian territory from a foreign army. It's evidence that the Catholic church was willing to take action and not simply tell it's people to "just pray about it". Attracting new members. What's being done to address it? How many offenders have been punished? That's...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

One does not have to be, or support, Catholicism, in order to see the value in the mission of the crusades. My source of displeasure with Catholicism, at least today, is it's unwillingness to do what is necessary. Also it's pedophile problem that it sweeps under the rug. I agree. But what of...

Yes. The threat of Islamic expansion was very much real. Or do you think Christians were wrong to oppose it? No. From other people, their feelings, their expectations, etc. For most of my life, I tried to make other people happy, even if it made me unhappy. It's no way to live. Especially given...

Which is worse, murder or eternal torture?

What does eternal torture actually accomplish anyway? Furthermore, what about unsaved children? I think the Catholic church had to be shamed into admitting that they don't burn in hell forever. It makes you wonder, if aspects of Christianity can be rescinded or changed to better fit the taste...

How much is petrol/gasoline in your area?

    $3.95 a gallon here.

What's the connection? Because they failed. If you want evidence, look at western Europe today. Detachment. Not too dissimilar to Christianity's idea of dying to one's self.

I don't know when thee practice began. But I know that it's nonsense. No. I don't mind. It's a means to an end. That's human history in a nutshell.

No. But I did pick up individual fire ants and drop them into spider webs as a kid. I would watch the spider spring into action and wrap the ants up into their web. They would bite the ants before doing so. Ironically, I hate spiders as an adult.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

We can make Jesus a Jedi who uses Force powers. Or we could swap in baby Jesus for this scene. He doesn't have the mental fortitude to control his powers yet, so he just kind of lashes out because he's afraid of the dark. That's just off the top of my head. Or we could just have them be clumsy...

Almost like a force of some kind flung them to the ground. What are the odds that they all just slipped on the same banana peel? :IDK:

Butter knives, spoons, and other assorted dull objects, that would cause minor irritation and abrasions. :gd

Real life isn't a movie. Split second decisions have to be made. Just ask any police officer.

No. So I was right. You're gonna use the butter knives.

I'm not trying to persuade you. Then what are the guns for? Hunting? Because if you have to shoot sometime in self defense, there's a good chance they'll die.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Alright. So that's finally established. We're all allowed to have opinions. Do you use the guns to spread the jam and the butter knives for self defense?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

As it was presented: Christians have a right to defend themselves, their families, and their country, from harm. You said you're okay with that so long as it doesn't result in the death of the one doing the harm. Which I think is really silly. I'm assuming you mean guns and not butter knives?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

It is the reality of the world we live in. Being a pacifist in this world is a death sentence. What did I say earlier? It's a long thread.

Why are you asking everyone if they own a weapon? Go buy your own.
