The Body of Christ vs. The Bride of Christ

Hi Tex, Regarding the brideship, you just proved my point. Paul is only using marriage as an example of the relationship between the Body and the Head. Our walk with Christ should develop as we mature in Him so that we are "as" one flesh and it's the Holy Spirit that makes this possible. Sorry...

    The Rapture: A Biblical Study

Hi S4C, Sounds to me like you're overly concerned with semantics. I've always known the word rapture isn't in the bible and the word "bible" is not in the bible, yet everyone knows what we're talking about when we speak of the bible. If you want to use the word "harpazo" instead of it's English...

Ten Reasons I Do not Believe There Will Be "an Antichrist"

I think someone may be in for a big surprise but only time will tell for sure.

    The Rapture: A Biblical Study

Hi Wormwood, Your words:"This is true of Revelation as well. I think this is clear because we see things like the birth of Christ after the resurrection of Christ and so forth multiple times in the book." Could you offer an example of this besides Rev. 12:5, which is a brief overview of the...

    The Rapture: A Biblical Study

Hi S4C, Your words: "Because both verses describe people being raised from the dead it should be obvious that this is a significant description of the resurrection of the believers. Both passages are consistent, for they say that "the dead in Christ shall rise first...then we which are alive...

The Body of Christ vs. The Bride of Christ

Hi all, Without getting over excited, I'm just offering this as an alternative theory. I am in no way saying, "thus saith the Lord." Perhaps, because I'm a male of the species, I've always been uncomfortable with the description of the church as the Bride of Christ. As I've listened to various...

Submit oneself to the Pastor, Magesterium, Word, or ?

Hi Guys, Not wanting to hijack Shturt's OP, I'll repost a study I did on the topic of The Body vs. The Bride from the eschatolgy area, if I can find it.

    Dinosaur with feathers and scales?

New to man but old to God. Just more of His fabulous creation. Who knows, maybe they found the bird of paradise :o

"Revelation," should we be that concerned 'today'?

Hi Guestman, Your words..."It also shows an arrogance, for a person is saying that all that has been presented through the Bible is not really "good" and "I don't like it." This is like the Pentecostals who basically only accept Acts 2:38, rejecting the rest of the Bible. (I had a Pentecostal...

    The Rapture: A Biblical Study

Hi Tex, The word "rapture" only implies a catching away to meet the Lord in the air! Nothing more and nothing less. The timing of it is irrelevant to the fact that there will be a rapture as described. Hi Wormwood, Imo, there is no such thing as a "same day" judgement except the sheep and goat...

Submit oneself to the Pastor, Magesterium, Word, or ?

Hi Tex, The key word is the 5th one, "as". It is a metaphor and nothing more. Hi Shturt, 1. Christ is the Lamb...Yes! 2. There will be a wedding...Yes! 3. The church will be in attendance....Yes! The wedding will be on earth, shortly after the sheep and goat...

    WHY CHRISTIANS DON'T ATTEND CHURCH?

Our Shepherd is supposed to be Christ, not a pastor. As exampled by the apostles, pastors should be a guiding hand amongst the assembly while its members encourage and exhort one another. The church was never intended to be "led" by a pastor with 99% passivity and 1% activity.

    The Rapture: A Biblical Study

I, for one, do believe in a rapture. Why? Because it is what the bible teaches! First off, let me say that I am not a pre-tribber. I'm pre-wrath but at the moment, I disagree with their view on the timing of the rapture which they put somewhere between the 4th and 6th year of Daniel's 70th week...

Submit oneself to the Pastor, Magesterium, Word, or ?

Interestingly enough, there is not one single scripture that actually declares the "church" is the bride of Christ. That is an assumption started centuries ago based on misinterpreted scriptures and a lack of knowledge from those who think they know who the bride of Christ is.

    WHY CHRISTIANS DON'T ATTEND CHURCH?

Hi Randor, I don't attend church but not for any of the reasons or excuses you listed. A church should be a place to go where you are fed but if you end up starving for the meat of the word, what good is it? In your post #5 you referenced, "not give up meeting together"...Here's the whole verse...

Will the real "Antichrist" please stand up?

Hi Dadad, When there is a prophecy with a historical context with a proven fulfillment, why search aimlessly for some hidden truth that isn't there. You're just trying to make spiritual mountains out of literary molehills. When the scriptures make sense, seek no other sense. Understanding the...

Will the real "Antichrist" please stand up?

Hi DD, Let's take your points one at a time: 1. Daniel 12:4 & Daniel 12:9 both DEMAND that the prophecies are end-time. Who is it that parses these words to suggest ANCIENT fulfillments? If you think these verses are speaking of the Book of Daniel as a whole, you are sadly mistaken. The...

Will the real "Antichrist" please stand up?

Hi Dadad, Well, it's pretty well known that the Lion = Babylon (modern day Iraq), the Bear = Medo-Persia (modern day, Iran) and the Leopard/Tiger = the Grecian Empire (modern day, Syria). Interestingly, from Dan. 9:26, it is "the people of the prince that shall come to destroy the the city and...

Will the real "Antichrist" please stand up?

Or maybe we should just take scripture at face value. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come (a singular, future event/person), even now are there many antichrists; (preceded by the signs of the many) whereby we know that it is the last time...
