Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

H I will just have to take your word for it, not knowing your church at all brother. But I hope some arent' thinking they have reached the full stature of Christ when they haven't. We need to strike a good balance between being encouraged in our walk when we truly need it, and facing the...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

We did receive divine faith in the beginning when we came to Christ, Epi. It was not of our own, but a miracle of God's grace and mercy. I'm talking about genuine life changing, saving faith.....not just nominal belief like most Catholics have (and increasing numbers in the protestant realm now...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Yes but we need to keep growing. We have access but are we yet fully accessing what we have access to? How many do we see walking in the full stature of Christ? If we're not walking in the full stature of Christ then let's keep reaching for what lies ahead, instead of limiting God and...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Even the Romans 1 verse says that His righteousness (mercy) is revealed from faith to faith and that the just shall live by faith (in the Son). That includes both levels of faith, if you interpret "from faith to faith" that way.

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

I was reflecting the approach taken by most of the church.......that the wedding and bridal imagery and crossing the Jordan is for sometime future or after death, not something to be attained in this life. Maybe on one level it is after we die, but on another level we need to be seeking to...

As we know we disagree on imputed righteousness. I don't feel like arguing about it again right now.

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Well, maybe think about it some more. Just wanted to point it out. The way I read the scriptures, Jesus both reveals the mercy/righteousness of God as well as His wrath...because both have been given into His hands by God. Wrath is for those who don't believe.........but who should believe...

That verse is speaking of fallen man, not believers who are following Christ. God gave them over to their lusts and idolatries. Where it says elsewhere that God's wrath abides on those who do not believe in Him.

But maturing has a purpose and a goal....it involves crossing over the Jordan....going to the wedding feast as a bride....there is a culmination of this stage to enter the next stage. We;ve been wrongly taught or assumed ourselves that all these things are for after we die, and not for this...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

That's a relief to hear, I have to say.......with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible. It's not something He expects us to do on our own.

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Yes, but we need "ears to hear" how it applies to us as believers, on another level so to speak. We still need to cleanse the inside of our vessels so to speak don't we......otherwise why would believers still need to be chastised as sons that we might partake of His holiness? For us cleansing...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

We do need to grow, and whatever that involves. I'm thinking of Jesus saying it is the sick who need the doctor, and that He didn't come to call the righteous.........seems that grace is given to those who know they need it and humbly seek it. We can't really repent unless we know what we are...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

I agree that faith works and beliefs do nothing. But are you accounting for the fact that faith starts out as a little seed and grows from there. If we are following/obeying the Lord on the narrow way of the cross, we ARE growing and taking ground. Not sure if you realize that what we who...

Appreciate your encouragement brother. That 13 years has sure flown! Man's life is but a vapour. How true is that and every word of the Lord! The older we get the more we realize the truth and wisdom of God's word.

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

I've read testimonies of those who have testified of a "second blessing" and some call it the "baptism of fire" which burns up what remains of the flesh nature as they put it. The story of the "church in the wilderness" shows a second baptism (crossing the Jordan) after the first baptism of...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Amen, that is what Jesus and the apostles taught. Rom 10:13-18 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

I don't know for sure because I'm not there yet........but if God brings a soul to a spiritual crisis (as I've read how some express it) of "do or die" then they better "do" (by His grace) rather than "die". But if He hasn't led a soul to that place, I wonder if it is possible that some might...

Amen, we might wait on Him for answers too and other reasons as you are mentioning. I'm not sure how Guyon approached it, just wanted to make a point in general. Hope I didn't speak out of turn.

Thank you for your reply. I want to ask, are you born of the Spirit though...? Baptism is a kind of prophetic enactment that kind of "seals" something that has already happened in the Spirit. It doesn't in itself cause one to become born again, but one must be born of the spirit ( have...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

"Methods" and formulas are just rituals. But life is in the Spirit....the Spirit is life. When we are praying, at some point the Lord by His Spirit may begin to join with us and lead in our prayer as it were, and He may lead us into periods of silence in His presence and waiting upon Him....I...
