    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

From scripture I believe we can glean that the Lord deals with His people both in a corporate way as well as personally. The bible speaks of "times of refreshing" coming from the Lord......revivals, movements. His Spirit moves at certain times to restore, refresh, rebuild, strengthen, purify...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I consider that it is the spirit of the Law written on our hearts and consciences. Not the temple ordinances, which were nailed to the cross, but the weightier matters of the law.........justice, mercy, faith, love, purity in morals/ethics etc.....serving in the new way of the Spirit, not the...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I don't know if we're getting our wires crossed, but this is the scripture I had in mind: Jer 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

No, it's not mutually exclusive like going left or right.......because inward change brings about a corresponding change in outward behaviour as well. That is the meaning of writing the Law on our hearts.........it speaks to inward change, not a matter of outward behaviour only.

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

Jesus was giving them a deeper understanding of it....as well as showing them the higher standard of the new covenant. An inward change, not just outward. The Law never could justify anyone....that is why the new covenant was necessary.

    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

Amen, we serve a spiritual God, after all. I came to faith in a cessationist Brethren church. I'm grateful to them for their part in my salvation, but as we grow in the Lord we get weaned from our "mother", from she who gave birth to us as it were. And sometimes there are more weanings to...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

The Law is not just hearsay, but was put in effect by angels and the new testament affirms that it is spiritual....and good if it is used properly...useful for instruction in righteousness, correction, etc. But with the new covenant, we can see the Law in a new and deeper light as well....type...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I kind of see some middle ground with this too. There are different gifts and callings, as well as an appropriate time to speak and a time to be silent etc. Some save with fear, others with compassion making a difference. Agree that the bottom line is to be led by the Spirit if/when/what to...

    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

I believe the bible does point to a "second blessing", so to speak. We follow the same pattern as our example, the church in the wilderness. After crossing the Red Sea, they had a second barrier to get across, a second baptism to undergo as it were, to enter the Promised Land of Rest. They...

    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

This sounds similar to the beliefs of the "holiness" movement. Different people can have very different ways of describing the same experience, and it also seems evident that becoming holy doesn't mean one has all understanding or is infallible. I have wondered about the baptism of the Holy...

    PASTORS: Worship Music...Oh PLEASE!

Amen. There is a world of difference between a "concert" and worship. Everything seems to be a performance nowadays....from so-called worship, to the preaching and prophesying. The bad fruit - love of fame & money, and sin in the camp, is being exposed - it's all very sad. "Mega-ministry" is...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

I believe the glory is all God's, not ours....there is very good reason why we will lay our crowns at His feet. We are HIS workmanship and what do we ever have that we didn't RECEIVE from Him? Therefore, ask, seek and knock. He who began a good work in us will be faithful to...

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

Yes, we may witness of our experience in our own words, and that is what most do, but teaching I believe is another thing. Those who teach, are hopefully teaching God's word, not their own word. Anyone may "use" their own descriptive terminology to help their own or someone else's...

Thanks brother...I did manage to find it on-line and have started reading it.

Reviving Biblical Christianity (The Way) Part 2

It's the difference between walking in the Spirit and not walking in the Spirit.....if you walk in the Spirit you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. And it costs to get there......as the bible says it is through much tribulation that we enter the kingdom of God. I find it helpful and...

A bit of a mess in the White House.

Had a hunch that Trump and Elon weren't best friends for sentimental reasons. And if both sides are wanting this, then it looks to me like a battle between two world orders and which one will win and come out on top. This is what Godlessness leads to, trusting in man's inventions and...

A bit of a mess in the White House.

"There is NO ONE righteous....no not one." Not Democrat party, not Republican party. But we should expect better of the CHURCH. The church should be separate/holy and have feet set HIGH upon the Rock........not mired in the mud of politics, and not to mention scandal after scandal.

Of what value is retribution against humankind to God? - Love your enemies?

Maybe, unless it was that he thought for sure he was a goner and the whole thing was a picture of the death/resurrection without necessarily being literal.

Of what value is retribution against humankind to God? - Love your enemies?

Whale sharks are very large and they are fish with gills. If the one the Lord "prepared" was having digestive problems and full of gas/air, it would have allowed Jonah to breathe when he was inside it. At any rate........if God said it, we can count on it having happened one way or the other.

Of what value is retribution against humankind to God? - Love your enemies?

I wouldn't wonder if there will be nuclear conflagration in the end, however, the hell/gehenna that Jesus referred to destroys both body and soul. And the lake of fire was originally prepared for angelic beings, not the flesh of mortal man. I believe it has to do with our God being a consuming...
