    Work out your own Salvation?

I would say that members of forums like this ARE abiding in Him themselves because they have to be in the Word to be able to post arguments, even if wrong doctrinally. They still love Jesus and read His Word. That's the important thing.

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. Did you mean that the 3,000 heard them speak in tongues and naturally heard their own language? Or did you mean that the 3,000 heard them speak in tongues and supernaturally heard their own language? So, naturally or supernaturally?

    Work out your own Salvation?

The scripture points out they were once IN ME. The point is they must continue The belief in OSAS is a doctrine of demons to make those who believe in it to not believe the warnings.

    Work out your own Salvation?

RJ, I've looked at the warnings in the Bible about those who expected to go to heaven because they at one time had the Spirit and even operated in the gifts of the Spirit. So why did Jesus say to them, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Lately, I've come to the conclusion they did not continue...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Yes, worry is a sin. I know God was guiding me to buy this house, and when we have a tornado warning, I just go to bed.

    Work out your own Salvation?

Yes as long as you abide in Him. Study the whole chapter of 1 John 3. That is the first type of sin that is taken away - Lawlessness, which are sins unto death. Then Jesus starts us on a life-long process of glorification, making us like Christ, Romans 8:29-30, 2 Peter 1:5-11 to make us finally...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Look more closely at that scripture. "every man heard THEM speak in his own language. What each heard was like a choir praising God in his own language. That is supernatural, thus a gift of the Spirit. If what you determined was true, then 1 Cor. 14:2 is not true scripture.

Earning Knowledge of God / Eternal Life

I see three different gifts given by each member of the Trinity. Father: Romans 12 (mankind to become saved) Holy Spirit: Mark 16 (individual) and 1 Cor. 12 (profit of all) Son: Ephesians 4 (offices in the church)

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

So the 3,000 had the gift of interpretation of tongues to understand what was being said?

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Do you believe 1 Corinthians 14:2 is true in all instances? "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." How did the 3,000 Jews understand the tongues spoken on the Day of Pentecost?

Earning Knowledge of God / Eternal Life

I've heard radio pastors say that those Gentiles only have the "measure of faith" that God gives mankind, and are not Christians.

    Work out your own Salvation?

Hi RJ, Of the two types of sins: sins unto death and sins NOT unto death, when we are born again of the Spirit Jesus as the Author of our faith takes away all desire out of our nature to commit sins unto death known as lawlessness (1 John 3:4-5). As also the Finisher of our faith Peter shows us...

Earning Knowledge of God / Eternal Life

It is good that you already know that the Roman 2 Gentiles have already been born again of the Holy Spirit and are Christians. You are the only one I've heard of that knows they are Christians. :waves:

Earning Knowledge of God / Eternal Life

Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Discern Romans 2:14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

The Jews received the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, but it was not world-wide. Then the Samaritans received it by the laying on of hands by the Apostles in Samaria. Then the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles at the house of Cornelius as a sign to Peter that the Gentiles were...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Just keep abiding IN Him, because He will abide in you. Gifts are one thing, but letting God wash your mind of all doctrines of man and reteaching you the ONE true doctrine and the only right interpretation of His Word is the most valuable gift you can have.

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Yes. It then cannot be confused with the "sign" of tongues. Mark 16 "these signs shall follow..." It depends on before of after you receive a gift of the Spirit. He determines what gift we need according to whether you are given an office in the Church or not. But once you are given a gift it...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

I suppose it starts in tongues and quickly turns to his language. Of all the gifts of the Spirit, receiving messages from God in tongues and interpretation of tongues are the only two I've never experienced. But as we see at the bottom of 1 Cor. 12, each of those is connected to an "office." God...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

I asked a pastor once about what he hears when he gives the interpretation of tongues from a message in tongues. He said, he hears English and repeats what he heard. What is interesting about those who speak against tongues because they hear blasphemies, is that blasphemy is what they hear...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

It says that those 3,000 then believed and were baptized. The teenage girl in Arizona also believed and became a Christian. You have faith. I do too and when I hear of miracles I never doubt. And just like the talents, we receive more. And those who live in doubt, what faith they had will be...
