The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

John Calvin denied Limited Atonement (not that John Calvin defines Calvinism, the Synod of Dort would be a better starting point). I just found the irony ... amusing. John Wesley has a sotieriology that accepts Total Depravity and Unlimited Atonement via "Prevenient Grace" (which I personally...

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

    1. I do not believe that Jon Calvin taught "double-predestination" 2. You appear to use the term "hyper-calvinism" far too freely ... as others misuse "Pelagianism". There are MANY "Calvinists (including this Particular Baptist) and VERY FEW "hyper-calvinists". hope this helps. :) CALVINISM...

Is Jesus God Himself or God the Son?

He is not, but we are ... and you are capable of misunderstanding the Great I AM. You throw around accusations that God is a liar quite a bit. Certainly more often than I am comfortable reading. You might be one of those 2 Timothy 3:5 people that we are to have "nothing to do with".

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

The "For some reason" is because some people are claiming that God poured His WRATH upon JESUS CHRIST ... which also is a "positive claim" that has the "burden of evidence in support of the claim". (So I offered an example of what happens when the burden is shifted to "proving a negative" - as...

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Not once does the Bible say that the Son’s of Thunder located Judas and beat him within an inch of his life for betraying Jesus … does that mean that it happened?

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

We are all truly humbled before the fierceness of your pride.

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

… and yet you offer nothing but a “Taint So” to correct me. Would it not have been more effective to just provide the verse that teaches God’s wrath poured on Christ?

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Great discussion of God’s wrath … but once again, God’s wrath on Christ must be inferred rather than exegeted from some explicit verse that makes that claim.

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Sort of … Deuteronomy 21: 18 “If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, 19 then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his...

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Isn’t this an “argument from silence”? You are claiming what we DON’T KNOW as proof.

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Verse please. (Otherwise, you DO need those theologians).

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

That’s a lot of opinions, but I have serious questions about whether you can produce actual scripture to back them up. “If He were to die for the most vilest sins know to man, He would have to die the most vilest death know to man.” … what scripture (or even human law) agrees with this? The...

Is your Faith in the Bible or is it in God?

John 6:35-40 [NASB] Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will...

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

What does that mean … “but he [Jesus] did pay for the sufferings of Sin”? What are “the sufferings of Sin”? What did Jesus pay and to whom? (I am not challenging your statement, except to seek clarification of what you mean.)

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

I read it. Two thoughts: Hated the length (but understood it was necessary). Loved the focus on the LOVE & UNITY as the nature of God and prime force behind the atonement.

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

Where does the Law demand it? From what I read, “the wages of sin is death” … so all the Law demanded was death (not torture). The Priest did not inflict unnecessary pain on the lamb. Was God angry at the Passover lamb?

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

That’s pretty strong … definitely harshing my mellow. ;) There is a faction that argues that God the Father is INCAPABLE of forgiving anyone of anything until and unless God has first gotten His “pound of flesh”. Is that really the God revealed in scripture? Imagine for a moment if men were...

The WRATH of God poured out on Christ … where?

We are not the first people to ask these questions, so just for “conversation”, I offer a summary of the thoughts of theologians through the centuries that were all a lot smarter than me. What they thought is just “food for thought”, while what scripture says is the real test of truth … but...

Is your Faith in the Bible or is it in God?

Your unsupported and unfounded opinions are irrelevant. I doubt whatever voice you are hearing that advocates discarding the Bible is God, but it remains speculation until we stand before him and all truth is revealed.
