John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Erudite? I'm thinking it'll be anything but. It'll probably be John 1:1. Just change the word "logos" into "Jesus" and the subject is settled. It just shows the power of tradition to make the word of God of none effect.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

You know nothing about my deeds or my fruit. Why do you act as though you do? You are a false accuser of the brethren. You should repent. That's all I say on that.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Was the manna "from heaven" also God? John 6:31 says it too came down from heaven. What is wrong with "our image" referring to the spiritual beings that exist with God? When we see it that way we don't have to explain how Jesus can be God when the scriptures say only the Father is God...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Funny that you responded to my saying this is not about me by your continuing to talk about me. Have you done any research on 1 Tim 3:16? I didn't make up what I said about it. Virtually all scholars, including trinitarain, know that this verse was changed by English translators to promote the...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

There is a context of, "with God, all things are possible." Otherwise someone might think God can make one the same as three. Mark 14:36, And he said, Abba, Father, all things [are] possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Despite...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Maybe you haven't noticed, but I'm not talking about myself or my desire to be known as a Bible scholar. You keep wanting to talk about me, but believe me, I am nothing to talk about. How about sticking with the scriptures? The original post was about John 17:3 and 1 Cor 8:6 which clearly say...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

You are absolutely correct in saying there are no real original Greek texts. That's where textual criticism comes into play. Perhaps you could tell me specifically where the Greek I quoted is wrong. I guess all Greek speaking scholars should just keep their mouths shut? They shouldn't share...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

I know. You're absolutely right. Still, they always fall back on the, "God's ways are higher than our ways" as though that is justification enough for whatever nonsense they want to adopt as doctrine. Go figure! But, no matter what, they are all our brothers and sisters and God's children...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

In my opinion, the greatest thing about the internet is that it brings huge amounts of knowledge from experts to the common person. The truth is, it is not necessary to be fluent in Greek or Hebrew to gain deep insights to the scriptures. There are lexicons, concordances, interlinear, and other...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

In the Greek, 1 Tim 3:16 actually says "which was manifested in the flesh..." The "which" refers to "the mystery of godliness." Not the same thing as God Himself. A well known phrase goes, "If you've seen one, you've seen them all." We all know that doesn't mean we've literately seen all of...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

The NLT is pure translator Trinitarian bias. They totally left out the word "form" which is in every Greek text. If one thing being in the "form" of something means it actually is that something, then Jesus was not God, at least for some time, shortly after his resurrection. Mark 16:12, After...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

That's a lot of fancy weaving and bobbing to say that the Father is not the only true God, but that's what the trinity demands since there is no clear cut verse that says "God the Son" as opposed to the 35+ times we see the "the son of God." Think seriously about your statement: "The words...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

Maybe John's pen slipped...he meant to say, "but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is God." I don't know, just trying to help the trinitarian cause. :):(

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

If what you say is true we have a huge problem in the scriptures. In John 17:3 Jesus made a clear declaration that only his Father (Yahweh) is the true God. Paul seconded that with the same clarity in 1 Cor 8:6. They would clearly contradict any verses that say Jesus, the son, is also God...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

So you meant to say that Jesus is the son of God just because he is called that about 40 times? What a novel concept! Shouldn't the 0 times he is called God the Son mean he is God? I guess that's how the wayward reasoning goes. Don't go trying to make sense out of it. Just accept it by faith...

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

From Strong's Concordance: G2316 θεός theos (the-os') n. 1. (properly, in Greek) a god or deity. a supernatural, powerful entity (real or imagined). 2. (by Hebraism, especially with G3588) God, the Supreme Being, the Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Yahweh by name. 3...

Who is Jesus to a Non-Trinitarian?

It is clear that we have God dwelling within by way of Christ. And yes, we absolutely have a direct connection with God. In fact, God wants us to approach Him with boldness and confidence. Eph 3:11-12, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom...

Who is Jesus to a Non-Trinitarian?

I see what you are saying and I know that is what others also say, but wouldn't you think that if God was really in charge now we would see a much better place? Look at Revelation chapters 20 through 22. It sure paints a different picture of the new earth than what we see now in this present...

Who is Jesus to a Non-Trinitarian?

Good points. It reminds me of: 1 Cor 15:28, And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. In the very end Yahweh will be supreme and He'll know how to run a better earth than this one!

Why can we dis Jesus but not the Holy Ghost?

Got it! Sorry for the misunderstanding. You made some good points, but I'm not sure that is really the answer. I know I spoke many things against God before I got saved and I still got saved, so the things I said before my salvation were obviously forgiven, both in this world and in the one to...
