THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

What if temporal Israel were to rule over the temporal nations of this temporal earth for a little while (in accordance with a false messiah ruling from a temporal brick and mortar Temple)....which I believe is a possibility.....what eternal good would it do them? Each unbelieving Jewish soul...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Yes, but earthly Zion/Jerusalem is temporal as all things earthly are temporal. Sadly, it will be burned up at the return of Christ, along with the rest of this world, in accordance with 2Peter 3. The flood of Noah's time gives us a picture....only those earthly inhabitants who get on board...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

Sister, it is the church which is bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh because she was taken out of Him. The heavenly city is not an earthly city with literal buildings and shops and literal streets. It is made up of His people, His body....the concept of a city is only a picture of the...

    Mary as New Eve

You're reading an awful lot into what I'm saying there. The confusion was on my end, because I simply didn't know what the fullness of the Gentiles meant. Most people say it is referring to the end of this age when all the Gentiles who will be saved are saved, which didn't seem to fit. My...

    Mary as New Eve

It wasn't complicated, I didn't have to think hard or rack my brains trying to figure it out, I simply received the understanding, of what the fullness of the Gentile is referring to. Had been waiting a long time to understand that. The Lord is good.

    Mary as New Eve

It's not complicated....it's written for "little children".

    Mary as New Eve

ok brother, I see where you're coming from, and we'll leave it at that. What I'm doing is sharing an observation, not a pronouncement. But just to add that I found the things written about her to be revealing and edifying, speaking personally. She is one of the faithful biblical saints just...

    Mary as New Eve

I think I must have misunderstood your post, sorry. I agree we should not make more of Mary than is called for, for sure. No more or less than all the saints written about in the bible...they were all very human and God has not shied away from writing about their mistakes and foibles. We just...

    Mary as New Eve

I would be careful to not go beyond what is written. Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered in this life, being tempted/tried in all ways that we are, so I doubt he experienced perfect parenting, like most of us didn't. But as His mother she would have suffered along with Him...

    Mary as New Eve

Except that the apostles don't address every scripture that has been written. I think "these things happened unto them (Israel) and were written for our ensamples"....applies to the things that happened unto the Jewess Mary too. But you are making more of this than I am, believe me, to the...

    Mary as New Eve

Where do you see me making hay out of Mary brother? God forbid. But ALL scripture is profitable for us, including what is written about Mary.

    Mary as New Eve

Oh dear, no. For a very long time I wasn't sure how to categorize the Catholic church....was it Christian or a Christian hybrid, or does God accept it as being His...? I just didn't know how to view it. Finally the answer came........a revelation that the ruling Spirit over the Catholic...

    Mary as New Eve

Is Christ being formed in us? We follow the same pattern as she. And it is God-glorifying when we see it, how perfectly everything in His word lines up. But I wouldn't say it is a life or death necessity, and God can use different scriptures to convey the same truth to different people.

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

The apostles were still earthly minded at that point, having not received the outpouring of the Holy Spirit yet. They were concerned about Israel's sovereignty because she was being ruled by pagan Rome, and also they didn't yet understand how God's kingdom is not of this world. Jesus basically...

THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

So the Holy Spirit is not for Gentile born again believers? I can hardly believe my ears. You would need to tell the Holy Spirit He made a mistake coming to Gentiles then, lol....tell God that He better take the Holy Spirit back from us.. My friend you are sadly mistaken: Act 10:44-45...

    Mary as New Eve

I know what you mean, just that the bible is so chock full of allegories and antetypes. God's word is so "perfect" in the way it shows and speaks the truth. But I agree that it doesn't mean we are to make anything of those types....it's just for our edification, instruction etc. I think Mary...
  17. L

    Mary as New Eve

Yes, but I thought we were looking at "types" here. Thought you were saying Eve can't be an antitype for the church because she was disobedient....did I misunderstand you?
  18. L

    Mary as New Eve

Well, let's think about that a minute. How obedient is the church actually? (Which disobedience the epistles were constantly dealing with or trying to prevent.) Especially when it is known there would be a falling away.

    Mary as New Eve

Amen brother. Mary is only a type/figure for the church. Like the church, "that which was conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." The seed/word implanted in us, and Christ being formed in us. She is honoured as the mother of the Messiah/Christ, but no more than other faithful saints written...

    Mary as New Eve

New Jerusalem....is depicted in scripture both as a bride and as mother of the church. The church gives birth to "children" begotten of God through evangelizing and witnessing. Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy...
