    Proof that Jesus is God

So that presumably, according to your reasoning, makes the Apostles Gods too, for they also healed people, and brought people back from death. John 14:12 (WEB): Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these...

    Proof that Jesus is God

We've been here already! As I mentioned previously, you are getting confused between Lord and LORD. LORD is a representation (hiding!) of God's name, so quoting a better translation (WEB) it becomes: Deuteronomy 4:35) It was shown to you so that you might know that Yahweh is God. There is no...

    Proof that Jesus is God

I can't find anywhere in the Bible that says "the Lord He is God". Just saying it doesn't make it the truth, confirm it by quoting from the Bible. "You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder" (James 2:19).

    Proof that Jesus is God

Background information on the Trinity (continued) Note that the writings of the apostle Paul contain no support for the Trinity, and he claimed to have received the gospel direct from Jesus: “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are...

    Proof that Jesus is God

(I posted this in the discussion "The Seed of your Righteousness", but it seems appropriate to include it in this discussion also.) Background information on the Trinity The doctrine of the Trinity is a false doctrine that neither Jesus nor God taught. It is an error that did not begin to be...

    Proof that Jesus is God

That's an interesting point that I've never come across before. The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges commentary on John 1:18 says: the only begotten Son] The question of reading here is very interesting. Most MSS. and versions have ‘the only-begotten Son’ or ‘only-begotten Son.’ But...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Regarding "I and the Father are one", I suggest you carefully read Jesus' words in John 17. Some verses from John 17: 1) Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; 2) even as you gave...

    Proof that Jesus is God

No, they tell of the relationship between God and Jesus - Jesus was God's only begotten son. The verses I quoted from John 20:17, Revelation 2:7, 3:2,12,21 were all spoken by Jesus after his resurrection, when he was no longer human, and in them he still claimed that God was his father and his...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Not entirely. I was also quoting verses that John wrote that say Jesus was God's only son, to show that John did not believe that Jesus was God, and therefore supporting that John 1:1 should be translated differently, perhaps like the Revised English Bible translates it: "In the beginning the...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Well that totally convinces me (not)! :)

    Proof that Jesus is God

That is what the Scriptures says. Considering that no one has seen God (Yahweh) at any time, I would interpret that passage as Yahweh was speaking through the angel. The angel may have been Jesus, or it may have been another spirit being - we have no way of knowing for sure.

    Proof that Jesus is God

Jesus was a god with us, but he was not almighty God Yahweh with us. Immanuel means "god with us" or "with us is god", where 'el' is a Hebrew word meaning strength or mighty, which is a generic word used to refer to any god (including Yahweh).

    Proof that Jesus is God

That's not explaining John 1:1, it's just quoting it and changing the word 'Word' to 'Jesus'. A similar sentence, logically, is, "Last week Mary was with Jim and Mary was Jim". It doesn't make sense! That's why we need to pay more attention to the original Greek text, and to try and...

    Proof that Jesus is God

I'm aware of Galatians 4:14, "That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus". But that could mean that he was received as if he was an angel, or as if he was Jesus, and not necessarily mean that he was...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Who is Jehovah Jesus? There is no such name mentioned in the Bible - you're making it up! (Eph 4:5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (Eph 4:6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. God (Yahweh) is God of all and father of all. Jesus said in John...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Read those verses you referenced again: (Rev 19:10) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Rev 22:8) And...

    Proof that Jesus is God

Hebrews 1 only makes sense if Jesus is God's only begotten son. Hebrews 1 (WEB): 1) God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, Were the prophets God? No. 2) has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed...

    Proof that Jesus is God

The Apostle Paul wrote: "yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him" (1 Corinthians 8:6, WEB) Also: Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father...

    The 144,000 in Revelation 7

Err, Acts 14:12 says, "They called Barnabas “Jupiter”, and Paul “Mercury”, because he was the chief speaker." Perhaps you meant Acts 14:22? ;)
