    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Nancy, I agree that there are some non-Christians who do good works to others - generally to friends and not enemies. However, what motive drives them. I agree that different people have different personalities. If you got to know me, you'd find I'm not a bubbly, experiential personality...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

BoL, Faith and belief in the Greek language are the same word, pistis. Let's check what James 2:14-20 (NLT) teaches: 14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Enoch, We get a glimpse of the human responsibility in unbelief in God in Romans 1:18-25 (NIV): 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Jane, Putting faith in Christ is a total commitment to him - and continuation of believing. Take John 3:36 as an example: Whoever believes [continues believing] in the Son has [continues having] eternal life; whoever does not obey [continues not obeying] the Son shall not see life, but the...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Jane, God DOES offer salvation to ALL. We know this from passages such as: 1 John 2:2 (NIV), 'He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world'. Titus 2:11 (HCSB), 'For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people'. See my...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

You continue to give no Scripture. As long as you do this, I'll not engage further as this is coming out of your mind without Scriptural base. Oz

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

The tree is planted at salvation.

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Please show me where Scripture says, 'Since Jesus died for all, then all will be saved'. Please tell me the meaning of Titus 2:11 (NIV): 'For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people'.

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Not one biblical reference to support your opinions. How come? Don't you believe the Bible supports your views?

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

The Greek word for 'faith' in Gal 5:22 means 'faithfulness' as a fruit of the Spirit. The fruit are what grows after salvation. Faith is what happens at salvation (Mk 11:22; Acts 16:31).

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

What faith did the Philippian jailer and his household have in Acts 16:31?

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Please provide biblical evidence for these statements. This is coming out of your mind but not with demonstrated biblical evidence.

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

    I didn't say that.

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

False again. 1 John 2:2 states, 'He Himself [Jesus the Righteous One] is the propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world' (HCSB). Jesus appeases the wrath of God (propitiates) the sins 'of the whole world'. Please tell me how this verse refutes your...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Dave, I honestly don't know which Bible you are reading to come up with that kind of statement. You give no biblical reference to support your claim. So that leaves me to understand you are giving your opinion. The Galatians 5 passage that teaches on the fruit of the Spirit states: 19 The...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Dave, That doesn't make sense to me. If 'all sin is the result of unbelief', then how can Jesus die for anybody's sin? Are you suggesting the Calvinistic belief of regeneration preceding salvation? Oz

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

HR, There is evidence for faith. We know that we have this unseen faith when this happens: 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of...

Dave, you are pushing an agenda. I've seen no biblical evidence presented by you in this post to support what you said. Oz

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

No, Dave. That's not what Acts 16:29-31 (NIV) teaches: 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ 31 They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Dave, I find that to be an illogical jump, i.e. Christ died for all; all are not saved, so Jesus' death didn't save anyone. You leave the only possible solution being for people to save themselves through works?? Seems to me that you've missed other possibilities such as: Jesus died for all...
