Yes, Jesus meant TODAY in his message to the thief on the cross

However, there is another option we may consider in understanding that difficult to passage from Peter regarding Noah's time and the spirits in prison. The death and resurrection of Jesus. After discussing the sufferings that early Christians were facing (1 Peter 3:13–17), the disciple turns to...

Yes, Jesus meant TODAY in his message to the thief on the cross

“10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory...

Is the "free gift" of salvation really free? - Honestly?

They are correct. There is a price. But we don't pay it. The cost of our redemption is a package deal along with the free gift. The cost that God paid was infinite, in that for all eternity His Son will be a man. That was the free gift... Christ Himself becoming a human person like us. God gave...

Is Total Victory over Sin Possible?

Like the wind, which is invisible, yet the effects of which are plainly seen and felt, is the Spirit of God in its work upon the human heart. That regenerating power, which no human eye can see, begets a new life in the soul; it creates a new being in the image of God. While the work of the...

Is Total Victory over Sin Possible?

Bottom line is that Jesus is returning for a bride that is spotless, without blemish. He is waiting for us to make ourselves ready for the Bridegroom. We are not waiting for Him. He will come when we are ready. Forsake all sin and unrighteousness, love God with all our hearts and everyone else...

Yes, Jesus meant TODAY in his message to the thief on the cross

Methinks you need to take your own counsel. The proper interpretation is that the Lord did indeed preach to those sinners who are now dead, but He did so when they were alive and had the ability to hear with their ears and repent. And the Lord accomplished that through His prophet, Noah, a...

Is Total Victory over Sin Possible?

Now hold on a second, that's not what you were talking about. You said, QUOTE... there have been billions of professing christians who have lived most of their lives in CONTINUAL ADULTERY, without confessing their sinfulness of living in their adulterous married situation EVERY DAY. Is Total Victory over Sin Possible?

The only thing I could recommend for you is not to use that as an example for your own life. The question you need to ask and find an answer for is what is God going to do with it???

    God's Just and Merciful Gospel.

What's everlasting here Jack... The fire or those in it? Exactly and precisely my point. Jesus never went to hell. Why? Because they wages of sin isn't hell Jack. It's death. The wages of sin isn't eternal torment Jack, it's death. Jesus paid the correct price. The true price of our...

What does it mean to be Under the Law?

The new covenant does not countenance sin. Or disobedience. Or the setting aside of the laws of God. The grace of God does not excuse sin. Or disobedience. Or the setting aside of the laws of God. The grace of God, and the new covenant, both of which you ought to be grateful for, gives you the...

Have you considered that your sleep may be less restful because your body is working at digesting your evening meal? Also, could you have less energy during the day because you skip breakfast? Food for thought?

    God's Just and Merciful Gospel.

Gotten a little off track here, perhaps my initial OP was a little too vague or difficult for some folks comprehension. I think it's really simple. The wages of sin is death. In order to be redeemed, a price had to be paid on our behalf. That price was paid by Jesus. What was that price? Death...

Yes, Jesus meant TODAY in his message to the thief on the cross

You fellas would have a more balanced view of scripture if you took into account all scriptures pertaining to the topic... “Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. ” Luke 20:36 KJV...

No doubt he was thinking of that. And perhaps one or two other texts with the same promise. That doesn't cancel other promises that such a life without death doesn't start until Jesus returns and either we are resurrected, or changed. Changed from mortal to immortal.

Do you mean this... “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ” 1 Corinthians 15:53 KJV Unfeigned Bible has already happened,? And I missed it? How did that happen?

Your benchmark for "proof" seems somewhat wanting. Why should those guys above get a second chance? And where in scripture does it even suggest such an idea?
