    Martial Arts for self defense

@FHII: Oh I agree that ink is not the central be all and end all, not by a long shot. Not everyone into ink is into martial arts, either, although a lot into martial arts are also into ink. Often it's a case of finding the confidence to have the inking done. (Did you say that your wife...

    Why does God love us?

@shortangel "We love Him, because He first loved us" (1 John 4.19)

    Martial Arts for self defense

@shortangel FHII said: I guess the key to both is being able to do them confidently, right?

    Martial Arts for self defense

@shortangel Just commenting to FHII, above, that a lot of ppl who get into martial arts also get into tattoos. Martial arts and tattoos seem really to go together, often. Maybe you yourself would get into one or other; or even both? (It's a definite trend, anyway...)

    Martial Arts for self defense

Hi @shortangel Thanks for all the 'likes'; so do you feel that self-defence is important enough to learn those techniques? or maybe you would do it more for fitness?

    Martial Arts for self defense

@LadyofFireandLace So did you see the self-defence technique videos, above? (posts #121, 122) or maybe you already know that stuff......

    @Jennifer Rogers It's a classic.......... :)

    Martial Arts for self defense

@FHII Well, if he's indeed a former martial arts teacher, then no wonder he has a few tattoos; they kind of go together, right?

    Martial Arts for self defense

@SERVANTedu So do you think you like boxing and martial arts enough to keep doing them?

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

Baptizing, when not mixed with personal faith, is irrelevant. John 3: "Ye must be born again".
  13. F

    Is baptismal regeneration…

In Acts 2.41 they were baptized because they gladly received his word. They were not baptized supposedly in order to become believers; they were baptized in order to show they were believers already. cc @Deborah_

    Repent

@Cassandra There was also the Seekers' version; post #27. :) Based of course on Ecclesiastes.

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

....but when God gave His Son, He was the Son already...... The Lord Jesus was not born and then He was supposedly given, and He supposedly became the Son then. His is God's eternal Son; the Creator God (John 1; Hebrews 1).
  16. F

John 1:1 - Jesus is the Father or he's not the one true God?

We are clearly not going to agree. The eternal preexistence of the Son of God is fundamental. Only begotten does not refer to Mary giving birth at Bethlehem.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

@Pearl Interesting that in Acts 2.41 ppl believed ('gladly received his word') and they were afterwards baptized... :)

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@SERVANTedu So did it get as far as talking to an artist about a quote for the ink work? So are there good tattoo parlors near you?
  19. F

    Martial Arts for self defense

@SERVANTedu So how long have you been boxing?

    Who managed to quit smoking?

@shortangel It's good to be able to quit smoking; ppl do need to remember that it has been extremely widespread in the past; it's also good to not "moralize"/"guilt-manipulate" ppl, as if not smoking were an article of religion. Like you say, no one can choose to quit on behalf of someone else.
