    Romans 9 Vs. Calvinism

The saints listed were at Ephesus.... That is noted. So there were some saints with names that this letter reached to whom Paul was writing to. It was also addressed to the rest of us. See... You can underline the word saints, and not underline the words "which are at Ephesus", but that...

    Repentance Vs. Eternal Security

Where does it say he was baptized in water? It doesn't. I believe in baptism, I don't believe it has to be done in literal water. Besides, when I said "paul did it, but didn't require it." I'm right. Please read 1 Corinthians.

    Who makes the choice?

God may have never determined it, but that does not mean he didn't kow it. He did know it.... He did know the individuals.

    Repentance Vs. Eternal Security

Water baptism is a beautiful thing.... Not required though... Paul did it, but didn' think much of it... He did it, but never required the sympbolism.

    Romans 9 Vs. Calvinism

No, it's not.... I proved that... Perhaps you didn't read my whole post. I've noticed that you cut your reading short.... You don't read all the relevant information, so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't read my whole post. It's referring to a group of 12 individuals. I can actually name...

    Who makes the choice?

Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. Ummm.... Maybe you want to rethink this concept that there is no time in heaven. Cause this verse says there is. Now that half an hour may be different from what we call half and...

    Joel

When I read Joel 1:2 it appears to me that the prophet (and thus, God) is somewhat relying on the age, wisdom and experience of the old men. How so? He basically is asking them, "Have you ever seen in all your years (or even heard about it from your fathers) things in this condition? Now...

Well, yea.... Who doesn't? Sounds like you have a good spiritual perspective on things.

    Romans 9 Vs. Calvinism

To nail that down more Quantrill, in Eph 1 Paul notes a second time the act of predestination when he says, "in whom [Christ] also we have obtained and inheritiance, being predestinated according to him who worketh all things after the council of his own will, that we should be to the praise of...

    Christian Powerlifters, Bodybuilders, Sports trainers

Another hijacked thread for the purpose of ranting about something that has nothing to do with the OP.... Sorry Madad21....

    Christian Powerlifters, Bodybuilders, Sports trainers

Ok, you bunch of armchair sports philosophers.... The fella asked about powerlifting, bodybuilding, strength trainers and sports trainers.... The latter two terms he was asking if there were any strength coaches.... In other words, this guy likes to lift weights and strength train.... It has...

    Christian Powerlifters, Bodybuilders, Sports trainers

I've dabbled in strength sports in times past. The only thing I had a problem with being a Christian is that competitions are usually on weekends, which interferes with Church. So the question is, do I go to compete or do I go to hear the Word of God? As for you other conflicts.... Don't let...

    The Blind Leading the Blind

ajdiamond.... Don't forget that Paul said after that, "How can you hear without a preacher?"

    Repentance Vs. Eternal Security

Poppin, when you look over it, just read the whole chapter and if needed, the whole book each of the verses in question is in. Just start at 1 Cor 1:1 and read the whole thing as a letter. The whole faith + works deal sounds good until you read carefully the whole letter, the follow up letter...

What is the purpose of this practice?

No, but then again, I'm not Catholic. I'm surprised one hasn't spoken up at this point to give the Catholic point of view. The incident in question is very brief (but powerful... he did raise from the dead!) and can be found in 2 Kings 13:21. I was recalling the incident from memory, and I...

What is the purpose of this practice?

I don't know what he means either. I don't know why Catholics do that either. The first thing I thought of was Elisha's bones. Its in the Bible that a dead soldier was thrown into Elisha's tomb and was brought back to life when he landed on Elisha's bones. But that's really all I can think...

Personal preference, what you were taught, lack of interest?

snr, I wasn't implying that scientists should stop looking for keys to how the human body works, especially for cancer cures... Perhaps one day they'll lick that problem... They certainly have come a long way. But I'm pretty sure they will never figure out all the ins and outs. Doing so...

Personal preference, what you were taught, lack of interest?

I have a degree in exercise physiology, which is a science degree. With that in mind, what Quantrill said is 100% the way I look at it. In that field (I am no longer in it) you would not believe how often scientists disagree. I'm sure and have been told it's the same in other fields as well...
