Do you REALLY think God is going to judge ANY of us by whether or not we got things right.... or by whether we lived life as we did because we loved Him?

There is/are Absolute Truths, undoubtedly, but I fear few of us even know what they might be, let alone, follow them.

I think "forgiveness" is tied to "justice." And Godly Justice is the desire for things to be made right — NOT a desire to get even, or exact "paybacks."

I agree. I see no godly benefit in feeling we should "forgive", only because we are told to. But rather, that we repent (change our minds about wanting 'them' to get what they deserve) and experience, instead, a real desire for 'them' to be forgiven and excused and absolved from the wrong we...

How has the praying you have been doing for them helped you in this? (This is asked of anyone on this thread, since I do see a lot of desire for vengeance.)

Humm…….. I have mixed feelings about this. Now the book will remain a "treasure stored up on Earth", hidden away, unseen and unused, where its words will do no one any good.

Half of it is a history book... the remaining part is divided into an Introduction to a Savior of mankind, (a thick black book is not a savior, a man is), and a demonstration of how His followers went through life.

Don't you even think of what you are trying to sell? You just get through telling people God is going to wipe out everything and everyone except those Believers he is protecting…. then you turn right around and say that He is going to send out 144,000 people to preach to people that were burned...

Gosh, I guess I had been a little foolish in hoping this might be a rational discussion. Oh, well, why should it be?

Job said it plainly and early in this thread. It was never revealed, and none of us knows. So why all this prattle about it?

I understand. I was CoC for 12 years, and in those days I firmly believed The Holy Spirit was nothing more than the power that influenced around 44 men to write things down... things that we call a Bible.

Well, you go ahead and trust in Bibliolatry, but I will also accept the things God surprises me with in everyday miracles. See?, we can both be happy in what we have chosen to believe in.

When Saul/Paul was struck from his horse, not a word of any of what he experienced was written in any Scripture he had ever read. When Moses saw the burning bush, or Arron threw down his staff, or numerous other Biblical things happened, NONE of them were written anywhere for those people to...

I don't think ANYTHING will be seen as "prophesy" or even from God, if you want to believe it isn't. I have seen countless miracles where others have seen just coincidence... or simply "luck."

We would have probably quit that business if it had not been for those words from those two people... words that came about a week apart, from two different sources. As it was, we hung in there and made good $ for about 12 years.

I think the old prophets "warned", and those today "encourage." My wife and I were singled out twice by strangers to let us know that a business venture in which we had been losing $500+ a week for a couple of months, was going to turn around. We were told we were like a garden hose concerning...

I still appreciate the turkey's sacrifice.
