Two goats butting heads, and BOTH of them so far off the mark it is unbelievable. :p

No, you are quite correct. There are many instances of the gifts, including glossolalia, being manifested in various denominations prior to Topeka and then Los Angeles (Azusa Street)

You really have never been associated with a Pentecostal church, have you?

For a bit of clarification, those early Mormons thought their glossolalia was an expression of the pure Adamic language..... NOT an "unknown tongue" that the Bible speaks about.

Who in the occult is ever going to join a group so deeply involved in following the Bible?

You even just said it yourself: "Soon the mission attracted the curious, who had no desire to be saved but merely wanted to witness the events." THAT is not "membership." I first went to a midnight Catholic service in the Army to see the weird things I heard that would be going on there. You...

If only I were successful in my feeble attempts to get you guys to read, Christianity's Dangerous Idea: The Protestant Revolution — A History from the Sixteenth Century to the Twenty-First by:Alister E. McGrath

    What's your favorite airline?

I hardly ever fly anything but Virgin Atlantic. They are only $1,178 from Tampa to London.

When two people disagree, there is no law that says one of them has to be right, and the other, wrong. Nor is there a law that says either of them has to be right or wrong.

What I have always loved is how both Jews and Catholics come up with "exceptions" whenever one of their doctrines gets a little uncomfortable. Protestants also violate their own doctrines..... but they don't (usually) invent exceptions (excuses) to enable them to continue doing so.

    Pentecostal Beginnings

The rapid rise of Pentecostalism has not been without controversy. But, claiming a membership of spiritualist mediums, hypnotists, and others who were interested in the occult, is a bit of a stretch. The movement is unquestionably a form of Protestantism, not occult worship: it emerged...

I'm sorry. I had accidentally left my communication controls set on "Inter Admin Only." I will correct that. :D

    The Absurdity of Preterism

The math? A horse's bridle is only 4 feet off the ground? Do you ride horses? And they are claiming nearly 12 pints of blood in a body. (5.6 liters) I was giving you the benefit of bending way over toward your direction in the math I quoted. But when you start off (like they are doing)...

You can't jump on calculating "displacement" of bodies without statically containing everything.

    The Absurdity of Preterism

That is interesting (though the math is way off), however, nowhere is there a nice, neat container that these bodies are going to be dropped into.

    The Absurdity of Preterism

BTW, measuring that valley, probably "Meddigo", SP? (since it really doesn't exist with the name used in Revelation) as short and small as possible, 580,440 Olympic-sized pools would fit into it. (I was way, WAY short by guessing 1,500 to 1,800.) The valley is at least 14 miles x 20 miles...

    The Absurdity of Preterism

That 200,000,000 number comes out to about 227 Olympic-sized pools. (It is third grade math)… I am at least that knowledgeable. And please don't embarrass yourself by trying to tell me God ran down all the horses and killed them because they were also "unbelievers." And what kind of...
