    Pentecostal Beginnings

I mentioned earlier that I was really enjoying a new book. Here is its introduction to "Part III." I just loved the degree of detail. The twentieth century witnessed many events in the history of Protestantism — some inspirational, some deeply disturbing, and others merely significant. One...

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Do yourself some math. An Olympic pool is 164' x 82' and averages about 5 feet in depth…. (about the height of the Biblical "horse's bridle.") That is about 4.4 million pints. There are only about 10 pints of blood in a human body. Let's be generous and say even half of that blood comes out...

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Don't sweat it, Helen. He just has no idea.

    I no

That IS giving. We must be careful not to automatically assume "giving" means throwing $ at someone or something.

    “About The Great Tribulation”

Maybe if I couldn't read, I might have to accept someone telling me that.

    “About The Great Tribulation”

I believe you will find that was "one of the Elders" speaking, not Jesus. I asked if Jesus ever said those words, and here you are trying to make the words of an Elder in John's vision something Jesus supposedly said.

    “About The Great Tribulation”

"THE" Great Tribulation???? Did Jesus say that? That is "an event" (like "The Rapture") that we have invented from some words He used. He never spoke of THE Great Tribulation.

    “About The Great Tribulation”

I'll bet those times of tribulation were horrible. Glad I live now, and not back then.

    I no

"I asked", but did I just "give?"

    i honestly feel trapped.

Never learned to ride a bike? THAT, alone, is reason enough to quit the JW's.

    i honestly feel trapped.

If they do, we are only a few days by bicycle South of you. Just let me know you are coming.

    Sound Doctrine

No, I think Helen, Nancy and I are alike in that. We don't claim we have the only truth... but that we have the part of the truth God intends for us to have at this particular time.

    Airheads

When I was 58 years younger (15), a group of us teens worked half a day, each day of the school year, at a school for mentally repressed kids. I did this for a full year. The consensus was that fresh vegetables would be beneficial to these kids. So, we built a huge garden, and raised all...

Has anyone had cataract or LASIK surgery?

    I've never tried contacts.

Has anyone had cataract or LASIK surgery?

No, I have never even noticed the lenses at all. I could just finally see things clearer, even though I still had to have glasses for distance seeing. (anything more than five or six feet away.) The doctor told me that, in my case, I had to make a choice of either using glasses for close, or...

Has anyone here ever read this document?

And as I said (and you know it) that maybe neither are teaching the truth... and probably neither feel they are telling a lie. (Which they aren't, if neither is deliberately deceiving.) All people (if honest) tell things that may be incorrect, but they are not lying. In truth, there may not...

Has anyone had cataract or LASIK surgery?

Yes, I had cataracts removed. I had lenses put in for 32". I use glasses for longer vision or "readers" really close-up work (4-10")

    Airheads

Even happier times for me. I thanked God constantly for that for the next three or four years he lived.
  19. Willie T

Has anyone here ever read this document?

The odds are, both would be...… IF one of us is not telling them that they are hearing only one person's opinion. And that God wrote the Bible so that they could form their own opinions of what He says to each of them.

Has anyone here ever read this document?

Obviously that second sentence has to play into it, or else no one would ever think anything differently than anyone else who also read the same passage in the same Bible. Scripture being "Truth" has nothing to do with the personal way the heart of each one of us decides how to "interpret"...
