    Domestic Violence

You are definitely not wrong here. An abuser that is not stopped will escalate their abuse...as told to me by a police detective that specialized in domestic abuse investigations.

    Remembering 9/11

There are various formulas for steel as well as the exterior beams are stronger than interior beams... Every steel beam is numbered and tagged with the exact location it is supposed to go. (No mixing it up) That's how this happens. These beams are crafted to the millimeter...holes predrilled...

Would you trust an American vaccine if it came out before the election?

One of the main problems with the vaccines is the total lack of transparency with the human trials. Only people with something to hide are not transparent...and the various drug companies are not being transparent with the vaccine trials. WHY? Is the question... And then Astra Seneca's knee...

Deuteronomy 24:1-3 Each is a separate step.... 613 Laws... Jesus said: Matthew 5:31

You have the steps reversed as listed in scripture. The Bill of Divorce was always primary and a requisite step before putting her away. God had an issue with men following the second step without completion of the first step UNLESS she had committed adultery.

People that do not Believe in, look and Expect the Rapture will be left Behind!!

So... I'm trying to understand... Unless a person holds to a pretribulation rapture theological position as to the interpretation of prophecy they are going to have to wait to access heaven? And you are using the Hebrews passage as proof of concept? Can you please explain how God exhibited...

    Domestic Violence

Well she definitely has issues with picking suitable spouses. I would advise against remarrying anyone on that fact alone. Divorce (no matter what or how) causes a person's heart to have a callous with relationships. It's so much easier the second time to divorce than the first. The same thing...

    Domestic Violence

Fornication is somewhat of a misnomer...it is tantamount to adultery because the likelihood of the fornicators getting married later in life is high... But I do believe that when Jesus said that if a man looks at a woman with lust he has committed adultery in his heart... meaning that now the...

    Domestic Violence

Well I did hear about a normal family off in the wilderness of Iowa.... LOL But I still think it was a tall tale. Children of abusive parents are going to have a very difficult time with friendships... marriage takes even more grace than a friendship can even think about. Trouble comes into...

    Domestic Violence

Romans was written to Romans...not Jews. Context and circumstances are very different.

    Domestic Violence

If I may... "Two wounded souls can't make a marriage but are great at making a ward in a hospital to get treated for their wounds". Marriage is for a giving and surrendering freedom type relationship. It's not about obtaining more in any fashion. It's commonly sold as obtaining more...but it...

    Domestic Violence

Roman law versus Jewish law... Paul was writing to ROMANS. Paul was speaking to wives licensing their abuses to their husbands with their poor understanding of Christian principles.
  13. JohnDB

    Domestic Violence

No...the terms used are "put away" and divorce... In the 19th chapter it's well after the 13th chapter where Jesus was going to speak only in riddles to the Pharisees. Pornea was a reference to being unfaithful to God...not adultery as adulterous women were executed as in John 8. Not to mention...
  14. JohnDB

    Domestic Violence

No... Not hardly. Remarriage statistics are abysmal at best. I am not suggesting that Christians should remarry because the proof is there that it's definitely a risky behavior. But it also is not a sin. And abuse of a spouse is definitely grounds for divorce. I don't care what the excuse is...

    Domestic Violence

Context is king in scriptures... You cannot isolate a scripture without having the proper context....EVER. Where the exact statements might not be relevant the principles contained in context are always relevant.

    Domestic Violence

We are human... We are NOT God. We may forgive, but that by no means doesn't intend that our actions should not have consequences. Of course she shouldn't go back.
  17. JohnDB

    Domestic Violence

    The Context isn't congruent here.

    Domestic Violence

Which people group? You have several ethnic and anthropological groups in the NT mentioned... Jewish society was only one of dozens. Modern day Turkey was one group, Persia was another and Europe another and africa yet more diverse groups.

    Domestic Violence

Greeks and Romans didn't practice formalized polygamy. Only Jews did. Romans looked at Jewish polygamy as disgusting and were rather self righteous about it. Romans had the same practice by wealthy members of their society by having Consorts. Although they didn't see the parallel. (Cognitive...

    Domestic Violence

Men never had to be sold into marriage... Women were considered one half step above property... Men never had to be virgins... Women didn't either unless they were sold as a virgin daughter by her father.
