What comes first ? Faith or Regeneration

@AceWestfall08 The Lord Jesus in John 3 speaks of the new birth; and there is nothing there about speaking in tongues...

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 Sometimes you just feel you need to inhale, right?

    Encouraging verses

:) "My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God." (Deuteronomy 32.2-3)

    So Much Conjecture

Prayer and the Scriptures daily are so important indeed; and the central theme of God's Word is indeed the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

PS: @Goldie75 Your comment reminded me; there is actually a tattoo parlor in Florida called 'Addicted to Tattoos'. It's probably more of a play on words, to some extent; although the lady that is the proprietor has a vested interest in people getting tattooed.... (Like anyone selling anything...

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 You living in the UK might not be as familiar with the legacy of Prohibition in North America.....some ppl even think one glass of wine at meals is supposedly addiction..... I take your point about different levels of smoking. Tattoos...well.....

    Why do Catholics…

@Cassandra Thanks for the 'like'; and it ought to be self-evident about our blessed Mediator, right?

    Where is your Battle Ground

@Pearl Thanks for the 'like'; Ephesians 6 is such an encouraing chapter! :) (Maybe good for your 'encouragement' thread which I think you started recently....)

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 Well, as well as smoking heavily - as opposed to occasionally or social smoking, I suppose - addictions come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Paul said: "Let your moderation be known unto all men" (Philippians 4.5). This in the Epistle of Joy...... Over-eating can also be a sort of...

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 Well, I guess you are living evidence that e-cigs are indeed better for asthma sufferers, right? (Maybe there is a support group someplace for asthmatic smokers?)

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@FluffyYellowDuck It may just be the effect of the ink in the skin; I wouldn't think that it means you were being 'jinxed' or something. It could be that when you had the tattoo injected, the needles could have gone in quite deep, near some glands, etc. Admittedly, the neck is quite a sought...

    So Much Conjecture

    @FluffyYellowDuck FYI.....interesting thread someone started....

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 Oh of course, yes; keeping a balance of meds. is important. Hard to regulate inhales at the same time, right?

    So Much Conjecture

:) "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his...
  16. F

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 So do you then think that you inhales are in some sense a response to them, driven by them? Because keeping inhales at a steady level, with a view to cutting down on levels of nicotine use does I guess take some self-discipline. But spiritually speaking, being filled with the peace...

    Why do Catholics…

@amadeus Wonderful to rely on the one Mediator (1 Timothy 2.5). :)

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Goldie75 Oh, well; I sense that you likely think small tattoos look better on women than the bigger sleeves, etc. Well, this is fine..
  19. F

    Quitting tobacco

@Goldie75 Well, I guess that inhales are better done in a measured and calculated way, rather than when driven by nerves, or crises or upsets, right?

    So Much Conjecture

@Goldie75 Your post reminds me of 2 Peter 3.18, about growing 'in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ'.
