How do you know your saved??

You are the one claiming to be saved and then ignoring the words of Jesus. You are selecting the verses you like and making a religion out of that. So what do you do with the words of Jesus? i don't claim to be saved until the end. So are you saved by ignoring Jesus?

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

You are drawing the wrong conclusion. The thief died that day. His race was finished. And the human race of Jesus was finished...that's why He said...It is finished. But you are taking this dogmatically thinking of a weird transactional salvation whereby one positive word eradicates all future...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Jesus ran His course until "it was finished" and now we must run our course till "it is finished" It is disingenuous to claim Jesus' race as our own...until we have run the course. Jesus said that as He was dying. And we can do likewise if we have remained faithful till the end. Rev. 3:21 To...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

And also on God's approval or rejection. Many will be rejected that believe they are saved. There will be weeping and anger.

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

I just find that the opposite of this is being presented. Everyone is esteeming himself higher than everyone. I have heard some say.."no one is higher than me because I am seated in heaven with Christ"! Wow...talk about getting things exactly wrong. Yet I'm sure many here would agree with that...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Why can't they who claim to be born again retain some humility? By not doing so it brings shame on the Lord. Why claim something for yourself? Claim the goodness of God....but not your own place in that goodness. Look instead for the good of others. Identify with the weakness in others...while...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

And that is why we leave the judgment to God. As Paul said...I don't judge myself. So it is human pride that needs to say "I am saved" no matter what I do. I'm special. salvation is conditional...and we are still running in the race. How many are sure they are going to win a race or...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

To think that way is a doctrinal position. No one knows what the Lord will judge a person to be. That's the mystery of God's ways. No one knows but God. Judge nothing before the time. Run the race to win...and stay faithful till the end. And if you maintain some humility...that's a good thing...

    Examine Yourselves

I think there is a difference between not agreeing and having hostility. I have a number of people here on ignore. I would certainly not break bread with these as I see them as hostile to the truth. They wouldn't want to meet anyway. But that doesn't mean that I agree with everyone else. As long...

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

So I wrote this on another thread...but in the name of efficiency I repeat it here in it's original form. The way I see this is that the organic church will have some very heated discussions...as we do in ours from time to time! :) When it comes to breaking the bread and the communion...

    Examine Yourselves

The way I see this is that the organic church will have some very heated discussions...as we do in ours from time to time! :) When it comes to breaking the bread and the communion part....unless we all are in agreement or having love for one another...we shouldn't partake given those times...

Round and round we go...where this stops nobody knows!

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

Pride and jealousies: Now what stops this simple organic way from meeting in unity is the pride of men together with envies and jealousies. Not every man is anointed to teach and lead the assembly. So then the Spirit of Cain is very present in the churches. As God chooses his Abels...the Cains...

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

My experience of church life has brought me to embrace a spiritual and organic form where there is order...but not control. Freedom of speech..freedom in the Spirit. How can the Spirit be free to speak if there is no freedom of speech in the church assembly? So to some this is taking things...

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

Greetings to all. I thought to put up a biblical...yes biblical...description of what the fellowship of Christ should look like. And I wish also to add in my own experience of that. ;) 1 Cor. 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

You mean protestants. And being a protestant means you can judge others as not as saved as you. I know what humans do with religious ideologies. I study history. I think your reasoning is backwards...I think protestants will fare worse because they justify themselves. But a Pharisee doesn't...

How do you know your saved??

This is all circular reasoning. Of course God gives us the power to walk like Jesus by His mercy. He doesn't want us to remain sinners so He gives us the grace to overcome as Jesus overcame? But that's not how you read it. You read grace and mercy to be an ongoing forgiveness for ongoing sin...

    Mind Loops

Logic and reason: Now some see these as being bad. But to go against logic and reason is to be illogical and unreasonable. The same goes for sanity...the lack thereof is insanity. We are to be sober minded. How many times does it say that Paul reasoned with people from the word? We are to go...

    Always Spirit-Filled Or Unsaved?

I invite you then to my new thread..on "mind loops." The problem with indoctrination is the way the bible is used...like alcohol to an alcoholic. So then with brainwashed people the bible is useless. They have a loop that decides what is right and familiar...anything unfamiliar is...

    Mind Loops

Yes. Most religious people are in the wilderness of the mind. And you can see it so easily. And they assume you are also in the same wilderness. So they close their minds to remain that way.
