Even this verse you chose shows you still do not understand. The verse does NOT say we will be condemned for not believing..... as a 'payback' for disagreement. It says that we (as I have said and the Bible says in MANY places) are ALREADY condemned because of something that happened 6,000...

In other words, take it one step at a time. You say you are being threatened by Christianity with Hell. If you believe such an approach is wrong, then that SHOULD settle the whole matter for you right there. Walk away, and don't let it concern you.

I think you are missing something. Christ never said "If you don't do this or that, then you will pay!" He said, "The Required Payment is already set and in place. I am offering you a way to avoid it." We can decide for ourselves that we know better... and take our chances, refusing to go...

Actually, aren't you just speaking nonsense? I mean, if you don't believe in Christ, how in the world can you say that you are then going to believe in the "Hell" part? This is kind of like the Atheist saying, I don't believe there is a God because He......." Oops!

No, I meant what I typed. Read the verse/verses in enough normally worded translations that we understand the original intent of the author....... so that we can talk to any teenager on the street corner about what was conveyed in the Scripture.

Over the years, I've developed the rather unorthodox view that if we cannot read any selected verse, and then turn around and tell someone what it means in plain, everyday English.... then there is a good chance we never really understood what it actually meant in the first place as it may apply...

Very few people who claim to "read the Bible Literally", actually do so on a consistent basis. Even their great Charles C. Ryrie was somewhat selective in which Scriptures he chose to take literally.
