    An interesting question.......

I wish this were true, but even Jesus pointed out that the ungodly love their friends. And He said, "You who are evil know how to do good things.... who among you, if your son asked for a fish...." etc. We very often mistake being a good person with loving God (being Christian), and sadly, it...

    The Return

I only learned one religious poem: "How odd of God, To choose the Jews."

    The Standard Millennial Positions

I just thought some of you might appreciate some clarification of the multitude of terms thrown around here.... And, though I intend to post others, I thought I would start with the most obvious. In developing a systematic eschatology, the standard evangelical viewpoints have tended to be...

    An interesting question.......

Would you consider looking at Matthew 7:13-14 in a way you may not have been taught? "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and...

    An interesting question.......

Is the call to force OUR ideas on others, or to let the gospel (that we are to tell) change their thinking?
  6. Willie T

    An interesting question.......

That's what I mean. Most people see it at something yet to happen. And I see it as something being worked out as God planned... even before we were created.

    An interesting question.......

You might be right there. Few people see escalatory as running all the way through the Bible like I do, from Genesis to Revelation.

    An interesting question.......

Wouldn't that require that there is just supposed to be only a certain, predetermined number of Christians, and that God's word was not bringing hundreds, or even thousands, more each day?

    An interesting question.......

Well, I was just wondering how What were priests for? No need for them if they were not supposed to represent men.

    An interesting question.......

Well, I was just wondering how Christ did that "reigning." Could you explain that a little more?

    An interesting question.......

Careful, now. I happen believe that way, but such optimistic thinking runs contra to the belief of almost all Christians. Most say our only hope is to be rescued (raptured) out of a world Satan almost completely rules......... and that we are powerless to change that world with God's gospel.

    An interesting question.......

Would you mind elaborating on that a bit more? Didn't God say all that He created was good, and that this world was ours to care for?

    An interesting question.......

I think some of you may be missing the point of the question posed. The study was of eschatology, and the way that most Christians say that there is no hope for Christian leadership of this world because Satan controls it and the world is destined to fall into depravity until Jesus comes back...

    An interesting question.......

It sounds good, but we know it isn't true. We can't, on the one hand, state something like this.... then turn right around and deride the scientific community as mostly not believing in God... or talk about the thousands of Godless professors in our colleges. Someone is peddling BS.... and...

    An interesting question.......

It's lived a bit longer than you or me, and will be here long after we are gone. So, why does it not still need Godly leadership for our descendants?
  16. Willie T

    An interesting question.......

Well, for one small part of it, to rule this country as every leader from George to Donald "should" lead us. I know many people try to make a case for the Israelites screwing things up by asking for a king. But, we have always had a leader (a human being) since the beginning. And as God set...

    An interesting question.......

........ that I ran across in some study: The postmillennialist insists that Jesus' ascension to the throne of God is the transcendent mark of His absolute sovereignty over history. The postmillennialist argues that Jesus will not leave this throne to return to earth until all His enemies are...

    Meh

Once on Mount Athos there was a monk who lived in Karyes. He drank and got drunk every day and was the cause of scandal to the pilgrims. Eventually he died and this relieved some of the faithful who went on to tell Elder Paisios that they were delighted that this huge problem was finally solved...

Panda, Did someone tell you that the Sanctification process of all of us isn't an ongoing and progressive endeavor? The Bible consistently talks about us having to renew our minds and to keep looking toward Jesus. That is not "cookie-cutter, lock-step",instantaneous conformity. Some...
