The Gift Of The Sabbath - Is It For Us? - NEW AND IMPROVED??

While not wanting a game of raquet ball, I would like to briefly answer. Revelation tells us that Christ was slain from the foundation of the world. Thus you are both correct. The new testament couldn't be enacted until Christ's death, not ratified without blood. But scripture clearly informs...

    Any programmers here?

This entire thread was written in Xosa. And I don't understand Xosa.

That you understand there is a resurrection is sufficient. That's our hope.

Little Men Love to Belong to "Clubs".

I lived in New Zealand until 5 years ago. We have a native owl there called the Ruru, or morepork. One flew into a friend's house not long ago... As you would know, owls are night bird, nocturnal, so there's no concern about this night visitor. However, when one visits during the day, local...

Yeah, I know. But let's not let little biddie details get in the way of a good story.

Little Men Love to Belong to "Clubs".

'You clubmen... Epicurian club members and Stoic club members, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you."...

imputed righteousness is isn'tt to about what we do. Like Abraham, all that is required of us is our belief that what God has promised, He is not only able, but willing to perform.

Let me refer to scripture by way of how I would try and explain it... KJV Zechariah 3:1-5 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the...

Christ's perfect life is imputed. His righteousness... We are accounted righteous as if we had never sinned. I think Barney was writing on that earlier... The difference between justification and sanctification. The first being our legal entitlement to heaven, the second being our our fitness...

Yes. When we receive Christ, His righteousness is imputed to us. That's justification. As we grow in Him, His righteousness is imparted to us. Sanctification. And yes, righteousness in us is reflected through right doing.

When the penitent sinner brought his pet lamb to the door of the sanctuary, he placed his hands on the head of the animal confessing his sins. His sins were transferred to the animal, which was then slain. The sins, through the blood, was then transferred into the sanctuary and that blood...

KJV Hebrews 4:2 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

We pick up our cross and follow Him to Calvary. No need to carry the cross after we are raised. We just need to remember each day to die. Believe that in Him we are indeed dead to sin, but alive unto God. As for struggling with sin. Yes, that's a constant battle. But the battle isn't with...

I see those OT services, sacrifices, rituals etc a little different. In and of themselves they held no value without repentance. Without repentance and the individuals actually responding to God on a personal level, those sacrifices were meaningless. There was no intrinsic righteousness in any...

It's all about the mind. That's where the battle is fought. The lusts of the flesh, and the eyes, and pride of life, are all in the mind. Control the mind... Have the mind of Christ... And the body will follow suit. The death of the 'old man' is the surrender of the will/mind to Christ.

As I said to Lambano, it isn't your righteousness.

We demonstrate that God loves them by loving them ourselves. If we don't judge them, reject them, and allow them to live at their own pace without constantly trying to convert or sanctify them ourselves, they will heal. I guess though God has to heal us first huh.

Yep, I think I may be looking at his philosophical anecdote a little too subjectively. Forget I said anything. Write it off to the rambling of an old man in his dotage.

Yes. And there's enormous healing power in that for those around us. Loving others unconditionally may cost us a great deal here in this life, but we win everything in the next. Including maybe many of those we loved.
