    Question on works and faith

@Pearl Indeed; as Ephesians 2.10 says - after Paul says 'not or works' in verse 9 - 'we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them'. Happy new year to you and dh! new avatar also....

    Sabbath Issues

For Paul, the obligation of circumcision was a retreat to law-keeping for salvation. This is why his writings stress the sufficiency of faith in the Person and work of Christ.

    Encouraging verses

Medical marijuana...it's becoming accepted by old and young?

@VictoryinJesus I guess that even though now mj has been widely legalized in various accessible forms you still prefer wine to it? (Sometimes also the combination of wine and nicotine can be regarded as rather strong, anyway.)

    Ezekiel

Hi @VictoryinJesus Happy new year to you guys! The John 15 passage reminds me also of the passage in John 21 where the Lord Jesus told His disciples to let down their net and so many fish entered that the net was not big enough for them...

    King James Version Only...?

@Deborah_ I do appreciate the KJV, although I don't make outlandish claims. It IS a good version, imho.

    Covid booster

We can recall that OJ Simpson could be innocent in a criminal court but guilty in a civil one. Irrespective of facts, it's money and publicity that the media thrives on.

Medical marijuana...it's becoming accepted by old and young?

@Heart2Soul This has been an interesting and for some even a useful thread, I reckon (and I don't get how someone thought it shouldn't even be discussed...) Although you're personally rather skeptical, you recently mentioned ppl who experience positive outcomes from medical mj. Do you reckon...

    HERESY?

Father, Son and Holy Spirit - a revealed mystery - are overwhelmingly present in Scripture.

    Sabbath Issues

...but a Gentile believer does not have to adopt the Jewish ceremonies and ways in order to be an authentic Christian (this is a strong message in Acts). Those elders in Jerusalem in Acts 21 were seriously misled. Look indeed what happened next; Paul did not even get to finish his offering in...

    Sabbath Issues

Luke 23 was indeed before Pentecost, the birthday of the church. Matthew 24 (as does do events mentioned in Luke 21)seems to have the context of Tribulation saints (after the church has gone).

    Sabbath Issues

...but the Jewish ceremonial sabbath is not repeated by the Lord Jesus in the New Testament. Romans, Galatians and Ephesians and Hebrews make it clear we are not under the law. The 'obedience of faith', of which Paul speaks, and being 'His workmanship' (Ephesians 2.10) are distinct from being...

    Church Bashing

The Lord Jesus spoke more about hell than heaven; plenty of refs. to it not being quenched.

    Church Bashing

In terms of the soul, particularly, it does not just cease to exist - as the annihilationists would have us believe...

@Heart2Soul As Ephesians 2 says, 'by nature children of wrath'. Then this is contrasted with 'But God...' Who has intervened in grace and mercy....Most glorious....

HOW DO YOU APPROACH GOD IN PRAYER?

@Heart2Soul Happy new year! Prayer is all about attitude of heart, right? And about searching the Scriptures also....

@Mayflower Did you write this? it's very thoughtful...

    Church Bashing

@Lambano By faith one grasps that 'Thy Word is truth' (John 17.17), so things that we apparently don't understand can't really be contradictory at all...
