Despite the apparently stated conclusion about married women, I don't see Paul referring to single women preaching in church, etc.

@FluffyYellowDuck Thanks for the 'like'; yes, nose studs have become soooooo mainstream that so often those that opt for them just have them clicked in and then they are virtually forgotten about, often. Re. the point someone made about the yarmulkes for Jewish men, in the OT, the situation...

I think it would be hard to argue that the supposedly "proper" thing for Christian men to do now is to go round and manhandling women who don't conform to what's "correct", in the manner of those watchmen.....

As regards prophesying (I don't think this is relevant after Acts...), there is also the background of the ephod worn by prophets in the OT...

PS: I'm not sure nose studs are even necessarily about getting married, either; the Ezekiel 16 passage seems to be more about imputed righteousness, as a background. (They obviously don't need to but, if Christian women - single or married - do want a nose stud clicked in, then it would seem...

I understand that some of the Hutterites think women can't go shopping without a 'head', i.e., a man going with them.....this is rather stretching what Paul actually says....

@Lifelong_sinner My guess is that a prayerful couple would probably have discussed this sort of thing and come to a conclusion - and lots else, at length - and come to a conclusion one way or another before they ever tied the knot.

@FluffyYellowDuck ....and in Ezekiel 16.12 the Lord Himself is recorded as figuratively giving Zion a nose ring (in a passage reflecting the truth of imputed righteousness). Christian women don't need to get nose studs put in, but those that wish to should just quietly go for it confidently.
