    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @Lambano And - likewise for the tattoos - I reckon she doesn't have any regrets either...

    Help discerning God...

    @Lambano Just the sort of thing Woody Allen would say...

    Christ is the head of the church, all others are usurpers.

    Hi @Nancy ; we should listen to that 'still, small voice' (1 Kings 19.12), right? :)

    Should Christians Always Be Healed?

    Hi @Mayflower This is an interesting verse: "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification..." (1 Thessalonians 4.3). I guess matters of healing, etc., can pale in the face of God's purposes for His pilgrim ppl in sanctification.

    Should Christians Always Be Healed?

    I see the comment about God's will (for healing, etc.); it seems to me that if one prays, "Thy will be done" and the person is not healed but is given grace to endure, then this fits with the bigger picture.

    Is smoking a sin?

    @Lambano A sobering post; thank-you.

    Age for first ear piercings?

    The emphasis in the NT is always on the inward and spiritual, indeed. A good passage to quote. The NT also warns against legalism. If we can't tolerate in others the moderate choices they make for themselves, exercising Romans 14 Christian liberty, this is pure legalism. Just to put you in the...

    Should Christians Always Be Healed?

    @marks Good analogies! :) Ephesians 6; John 3.

    Age for first ear piercings?

    @Friends of Jesus You make some good points; it's good to remember also that the Lord Himself gave earrings to Zion, part of a picture of imputed righteousness; and in Genesis Rebakah's earring was a symbol of the pledge of God, today seen in the sacred deposit of the Holy Spirit. So while ppl...

    Should Christians Always Be Healed?

    @Mayflower It's interesting that the Lord did not heal Paul of his thorn in the flesh (2 Corinthians 12), but rather strengthened him by His grace instead.

    Age for first ear piercings?

    @Friends of Jesus Oh I wholeheartedly agree. At the same time, the path of legalism tries to prohibit what might well be reasonable in moderation.

    Calvary Chapel/Chuck Smith

    @marks As regards Templeton, it doesn't change the doctrine at all. Like, if Templeton turned away from the faith, it would indicate he never truly believed (whatever he professed), rather than introducing any idea that the truly saved today can be lost tomorrow.

    Vaping problems? / benefits?

    @FluffyYellowDuck Hoping you will feel well soon. Sounds like you really mastered the inhaling well. Although for you mastering the inhaling properly was probably done at a time when you really needed the nicotine mixed into the vaping fluid, whereas you don't need the nicotine at all now...

    @FluffyYellowDuck Glad she is doing well. (I guess if she's not really into ink it won't matter to her whether the parlors in her area are good or not. Then, again, it can be instructive and interesting to look at a parlor's portfolio artwork with no obligation.) It's good to keep in touch...
