    The Book of Remembrance.

Ok...now you just need some scriptural support.....something that says what you are thinking, but in the bible. :)

If you have a better pov...then please share it. i started this thread so that others could weigh in on this topic. You are one of those "others".

    shutting up the kingdom

Christ life is kingdom life. A life that walks in the Spirit...in Zion...in the heavenly realm...in the kingdom of God. Strive to enter into the kingdom.

    Against Gnosticism

Gnosticism seeks to dissociate the works of the body from the person. As in...I.m saved...but my body continues to do evil. Where do people who are so deceived get this from? Of course, a misreading of Paul. Note in Romans 7 Paul says... 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then...

    The Book of Remembrance.

For me it is a principle of giving. If we have faith...we will not calculate our own needs, since God is looking after us. Let every person give as they have purposed in their hearts. But we need to see the law as a guideline. Of course a person can get all legal about it if they want. I am...

    Against Gnosticism

Our spirits are not us. Our spirit is just a container that returns to the Lord after we leave this life. We are a living soul...caught in some dark place...which is the true state of our beings outside of God's presence. If we didn't have our natural senses...where would we be? Could we...

    The Book of Remembrance.

A tithe is a tenth of all you have. It is a standard of giving that takes giving seriously. (I remember the people putting quarters and dollar bills in the collection plate when I was young). We are to give for good purpose. That is the "principle" of tithing. Some people give half of all they...

    Against Gnosticism

It is unfortunate that we need a thread to expose another man made "ism". But people can't help themselves I suppose. So the purpose of this thread is to expose the error and heresy of Gnosticism...which at least some on this board have fallen into. Now there are various degrees of...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

That's what the gnostics said...and what JW's call themselves too.

let's hope these are right angles! :D

    The Book of Remembrance.

I believe that the verse that states that a cup of cold water as in... Mat. 10:42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.” Does that not sound like "the least of these my brethren?"...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Too bizarre to comment. I will stop typing now.

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Are you also a gnostic? You divide what we do with what we are?
  14. Episkopos

    The Book of Remembrance.

Tithing is about giving...are we not commanded to give, and do so cheerfully? As in...freely you have received, freely give. Also Jesus says...these things you should have done (tithing) but should also have done the weightier matters of the law...like mercy and humility...etc. So Jesus gives...

    The Book of Remembrance.

Let me know if you find anything. Nationalism is a carnal consideration. We are to set our eyes on the things that are unseen. But to do that we would need spiritual faculties.
  16. Episkopos

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Not only do you deny the maturity in holiness of the disciple of Christ....but ALSO you deny any natural righteousness on the part of men who have a heart that is without guile. A double step into error. You are flying too low and can't discern that many unbelievers are actually flying higher...
  17. Episkopos

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

And we are called to put on Christ. A disciple is not above His Master. But when a disciple is fully trained....he shall be just as His Master. Do you know who said that? Hint: it wasn't Yoda.
  18. Episkopos

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Aha! So you don't see Jesus as a real human being? It usually comes down to this... Most "believers" have a real difficulty with Jesus. They stumble over either His divinity...like the Jews...or His humanity...like so many believers. But Jesus gives us His divine nature at regeneration...
  19. Episkopos

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

Jesus was tempted but He always overcame it. Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin.
  20. Episkopos

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

That's quite the theory! We are to be perfected here...in these mortal bodies. We are being perfected in the soul...the part that is "us". Our bodies die...our spirits return to God...but what is to be judged...is what the soul has become. So then the word of God and the spiritual walk are...
