    The Coming Great Apostasy

I say, choose a respectable version that is comfortable to you and STAY with that!! I for one, got into too much of the many versions, and finally got disgusted with it all, and went back to the KJV. I have been fine ever since. When you seek God with your whole being, the Holy Spirit in you...

    Correction: 1Mac. 6:8-16

    The Coming Great Apostasy

I hear your point, and it sounds solid, but I am having an issue with the word "waxed". Some how, I don't think we are interpreting it correctly within the context. The Strong's #1980 interprets that word in Dan. 8:9 in numerous ways, so it lends itself to other verses for that understanding...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Years ago I had an 8 translation NT bible. I literally ripped it up and threw it in the trash, so that no one else would go through the confusion it brought to me. I went back to the KJV 35 years ago, and read nothing else, except the Strong's C. (KJV). I often refuse to hear anyone's...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Yes, there is a difference between those who follow Jesus and those who believe in Him!
  6. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

The problem here is the word "waxed" is in the past tense, and "exceeding" is in the present tense. He desired to go beyond being great.

    The Coming Great Apostasy

OK. But how about this: Antiochus, as a king, sought to achieve the height of exceeding (beyond) great, through his campaigns against his enemies. It's not that he reached his goal, but rather he attempted to do so.

    The Coming Great Apostasy

How so? Both the NIV and the JW are translated from the Greek text of "Westcott & Hort". The KJV is not!
  9. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Correct! Everyone who is not of faith in the Lord Jesus, is "condemned already", is "a child of the devil", is "the natural man", is "that man of sin", is "the son of perdition", is "none of his".

    The Coming Great Apostasy

But NIV is synonymous with the JW bible, whereas the KJV is not.

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Correct! Please notice also that " the false Prophet" is also of the masculine gender. And is described as "he" , which clearly defines it to not be a church or churches. If then masculine, it is a beast, a worldly empire! Namely the 2 Horned beast, who had two horns LIKE a lamb (depicting...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

It's WAY BEYOND the papacy etc. Listen- every person who hath NOT the Holy Spirit of God, IS none of His. Rom. 8:9 Therefore, for all who do NOT HAVE the Holy Spirit, they " remain" to be "the natural man" , "that man of sin, the son of perdition (destruction is their reward). See John 3:18...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

The word "wax" in the English language also means "to increase in strength"- "to wax and wane"- Antiochus desired to increase in strength, to the point of "exceeding (beyond) great"
  14. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Absolutely correct on the first part, but off course on the second. If all are physically born as "the natural man" , how is it that you don't see that plurality in "that man of sin, the son of perdition"? Was Judas Iscariot the only one who was of " that spirit of antichrist"? I should say not...
  15. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Yes! And that is the difference for us all. "many are called, but few chosen" The gospel is for all people, and many hear it, but only few commit to Jesus through faith, and ask for Him to be their Savior, and receive the gift of His Holy Spirit.

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Lady Crosstalk said: ↑ Judas is an interesting case. Just before he "went out into the night" (a word picture) it was said that "Satan entered him". Since the Holy Spirit does not inhabit the same space with evil spirits, it is unlikely that Judas was ever truly a believer. We have clues...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

So are you saying that you do select the JW bible over the KJV? Yes, please continue listening to the "scholarly learned religious" (aka Pharisees) and ignore what God says in Isa. 55:8-9; John 16:13.
  18. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

The word "waxed" in the Strong's KJV is "behave(d) of self" . See #1980. In that verse it reads "waxed exceeding great". IOWS, he behaved himself to exceed greatness. Which is to also say, that Antiochus Epiphanes desired to exceed greatness. Please notice that the word is NOT "exceedingly".
  19. E

    The Coming Great Apostasy

The beasts in Daniel are spoken of in the masculine gender also, and they were empires. Dan. 8:21. That's your clue! Empires are masculine and never feminine. Again, there is NO "THE" Antichrist to come. The False Prophet is the 2H lamb like beast, which is the USA (Empire) Rev. 13:11. Yes, the...

    The Coming Great Apostasy

Really? The KJV is translated from the Textus Receptus Greek text. ALL the newer bibles of today (NIV, NASB), are translated from the Westcott and Hort Greek text, including the JW bible. Are you saying that the JW bible is more accurate than the KJV?
