Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Wynona All the young people tattooed with Bible verses with whom I have spoken have seemingly had it done for evangelistic reasons. There is a sense in which their wish to start conversation worked; and presumably has happened over and over, also.

    Truth about the Flesh

@Wynona Hebrews 11, with its frequent reference to 'by faith'....'by faith'...'by faith'...., is speaking of examples from the OT, over and over.

What is first? The war in heaven or the marriage supper of the lamb.

@Nancy Yes, they are memorable in the KJV. The KJV was based upon the Bishops' Bible, which in turn used a lot of Tyndale's work.

What is first? The war in heaven or the marriage supper of the lamb.

I like to remember that the Lord Jesus is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, (as per Revelation).

    Truman's Place

@Pearl Sorry to learn this. The way bright lights affect me at night is that if I'm driving in the dark and there are a lot of bright headlights, after a while it becomes a struggle to keep driving without resting a little.

    Set Apart

Romans is a might Epistle! Justification is such a central doctrine!
  13. F

    Reformers Month

Justification by faith was the pivotal doctrine which the Reformers saw in Scripture in the 16th century. Romans and Galatians. When people realize that we can't add by our religious works to the perfect, finished work of Christ at the Cross, this is truly transforming.

WE NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN.

@JohnPaul The end of 1 Peter indeed says that the believer has been 'begotten...by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever'. :)

@Heart2Soul A searching passage there, indeed...

    Death penalty.

@Rita Your sad account reminds me of Isaiah 48.10: "I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction".

    Who you really are

@marks I guess the underlying point is that, as per Jeremiah 17, it's the Lord Who searches the heart...

    Who you really are

@marks Our perspective can be vastly altered if we remember that the Lord Jesus, as revealed in Revelation, is Alpha and Omega, 'the beginning and the ending', 'the first and the last'.
