    A Fist Full of Doubt's

    @Ziggy These threads provoke a lot of thought, don't they? :)

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

    @Ziggy Interesting reference also to 'the law and the prophets' in Romans 3, in the context of justification by faith.

    Forgiveness

    @Jerry R The relationship is first and foremost Godward for forgiveness through faith in Christ and His work at the Cross. Sometimes in history deeply anguished and complex situations have arisen. Albert Speer was a leading Nazi architect, who spent 20 years in jail after WW2. After he was...

    Jesus Is God: Part 1

    @Waiting on him Yes, and I think in the context of that passage this is what Paul is referring to...

    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @MatthewG Thanks for your comment. So often at around 18 the tattoo parlor is an event which ppl assume will be part of their life experience, but then they move on. Like I was saying to @Truman, my wife and I talked a while ago to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist...

    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @Mantis Sometimes the word addiction - we were talking about it on the other thread - can be used a bit too freely; accustomed and truly addicted are really two different things, FYI: FHII said: ↑

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

    @Mantis People get used to it. Even to coffee in a similar way, I guess. That doesn't necessarily mean its an addiction. But the system gets accustomed to it. Even similar to getting tattoos; but again not necessarily an addiction in the proper sense of the word.

    Encouraging verses

    @Marvelloustime What a tremendous way for the opening of Ephesians to be worded! such a lot of Christ-glorifying doctrine for the church in Ephesians; such a glorious note at the beginning!

    Medical marijuana...it's becoming accepted by old and young?

    @Waiting on him I think that some ppl would talk about it; others might not. Some households are restricted to nicotine; and perhaps even if you and @VictoryinJesus had smoked pot (and I'm not even asking) there might not be a lot of discussion about it, if at all. Others might freely discuss...

    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @Truman Great text there from Nehemiah 8.10... :) My wife and I talked a while ago to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area - probably one of the more painful areas in any case. I can imagine the pain as all those words gradually went in. She seemed quite shy...

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

    @Truman Since a lot of politicians depend on lies, the change needs to be ultimately at an individual level by God's grace, rather than via politics...

    @Addy Well put.... :)

    Stoney heart - Renewed Heart by God

    @MatthewG I guess testimony is a combination of Biblical truth with life experience: where they intersect in faith, by God's grace....

    @Truman Amen! :)

    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @Truman Well, anyway, a lot of Christians - who may well be basically modest and even a bit shy - do seem strongly compelled go messing (to use your term) with tattoo parlors ("Oh that feels good") simply because of the potentials of faith message communication through ink. All the young people...

    Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

    @Truman Like it was being discussed with @Ziggy, sometimes it's in a bony area, but it's done there because of its visibility, and the pain is kind of neither here nor there... Sometimes there is a strong message being sent via the bony area.....

    Should a Christian smoke marijuana?

    @Ziggy, I remember, you mentioned hemp before.

    Stoney heart - Renewed Heart by God

    @Truman I admit that arguing with someone such as Paul Hellyer could be quite an experience..... (I see he passed away last month...)
