    Late Night Thread...

@Rita You would enjoy this; at the place I go where I am served Earl Grey tea - all very proper-sounding, right? - the cheerful lady who serves me the Earl Grey has a punk hairstyle and ear plugs... :)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Heart2Soul Now it seems to have come full circle. Other posters seem to testify to this fact. (Anyway, it's hard to buy that it's supposedly "not ladylike".) BTW, have you seen @Mayflower lately? she doesn't seem to have posted recently...

    Encouraging verses

@Marvelloustime Reminds me of Psalm 46.10: "Be still, and know that I am God".

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Ziggy ...whereas some tattoos seem to exude peace and calm and joy... tattoofilter dot com UnrulyBeauty reflected about hers: ↑ Others have posted to the effect that they can be a joyful experience for the believer, in their view.

    Late Night Thread...

@Rita I suppose that caffeine in quantities is at least obliquely comparable to nicotine. (I know that some Christians with their rules might tie themselves into knots trying to prove that this is not the case.) Actually I've quit coffee completely.

    What is Freedom?

@Ziggy Well, @Acolyte's doctor seems to have told her that she is better off smoking cigarettes than vaping... Not sure of the science behind Acolyte's doctor's advice... The preacher Spurgeon smoked - apparently it was partly because it gave him some relief from the gout that he suffered from.

    Late Night Thread...

Hi @Rita I used to drink the dark, gluey coffee that is served on the Continent of Europe, but haven't drunk it in a long time...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

PS: @Ziggy I saw a while ago an explanation of how skull tattoos - to a motivated wearer - be used to indicate a rugged toughness to face adversity. Some skull designs are soft and feminine. Not particularly advocating them but they do come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

    What is Freedom?

@Ziggy Some ppl would go as far as to say that inhales (esp. marijuana, etc.) make them feel more 'spiritual', but I think this is most definitely wrong. It's more of a personal preference and/or cultural thing, whether one does it or not. When one reads that before the American Civil War it...

    Idol worshipping

Hi @Nancy Reminds me of 1 Thesalonians 1.9b-10: "...ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."

    What is Freedom?

@Ziggy Reminds me of Galatians 5.22-26: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in...

    Outspoken Conjecture

Hi @Wynona Best to stick to what the Bible clearly reveals, right? rather than through conjecture and 'wriggle room' try to force the Scriptures through some interpretation that accommodates human pride, right?

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Josho Yes, this is a good point; kind of an approximate, general term such as 'retail therapy'; good, similar example. I think that the whole point of faith based, Bible verse tattoos is more the purpose for which they are obtained, right? rather than for deriving subjective feelings from the...
