Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Addy As Heart2Soul says, it's becoming a norm with some demographics: Heart2Soul said It's interesting; on the one hand, it's good to encourage one another. On the other, I don't think we should encourage someone else to get a tattoo; it really needs to be a personal decision; the personal...

    What are your thoughts?

@MatthewG I remember that Isaiah 55 says, 'My thoughts are not your thoughts'... Just remembered a relevant verse...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

Hi @LTJMP14 Well, all the young ppl with Bible verse tattoos that I have talked to seem anyway to have had them done for evangelistic reasons. Whether or not this would be every Christian's choice (and it isn't), I guess I'm not going to avoid having a good conversation with them about the...

    Rebellion, freewill, and covid

@Addy Phlippians 2 speaks of the Lord Jesus Who 'humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross'.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@MatthewG I was looking to see if I could find the source which I saw on the Web quite a while ago, but I think the page has been taken offline, unfortunately. I do wish more Christians worked in tattoo parlors. Adolescents tend to get their ears pierced and when young people have become...

    Beauty From Ashes

@Addy This is really quotable... :) Good phrase there!

    What are your thoughts?

@MatthewG As the Lord Jesus says in John's Gospel, the Holy Spirit guides His people into all truth; and so this is something which is continually happening...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Addy What I just wanted to say was that all the young people with whom I have talked who have had Bible verses tattooed seem to have had them done for evangelistic purposes. Whether or not all Christians would do the same (probably not, indeed), yet one can't fault their motivation for wanting...

The Bible - How do you view it ?

@Addy I do love the KJV and am impressed with its accuracy; I don't say that it's the only version that is accurate but I'm deeply impressed with it.

    How to defend the trinity?

@Addy Father, Son and Holy Spirit are indeed deeply present in the New Testament especially. Good of ppl just acknowledge it in faith rather than argue, right...? :)

Bible Verse of the Day - August 26, 2021

    @Mayflower Great verse... (And it's from Proverbs... :) )

The Bible - How do you view it ?

@Addy Ann Steele's words come to mind from the 18th century: "O may these hallowed pages be My ever dear delight! And still new beauties may I see, And still increasing light! Divine Instructor, gracious Lord, Be Thou for ever near; Teach me to love Thy sacred Word, And view a Saviour there."

I expect there will be another installment soon... :)

Bible Verse of the Day - August 25, 2021

@Mayflower: Paul indeed highlights the need for encouragement among believers... :)

    Who has read Malachi lately?

@jessiblue Great verses! and I think maybe the pilgrim character of the early believers in Acts 2.42 may have its spiritual roots with the character of the Godly remnant of the Old Testament, such as Malachi 3.16 expresses...

    Is Christianity about being 'happy'?

@MatthewG I love 2 Thessalonians 3.5: "And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ."
  17. F

Why I believe in the rapture.

We need to keep "looking unto Jesus" (Hebrews 12.2). 1 Corininthians 11.26 says: "Till He come." Revelation 22.20 says: "Even so, come Lord Jesus".

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@MatthewG Well, a lot of Christian young women do, anyway. (Inking is a separate style thing, of course, though they can be combined.)

@marks Hebrews 12.2: "Looking unto Jesus..."

Where To Begin Reading The Bible

@2ndRateMind Well, given First John's emphasis on the true believer's assurance, and Romans 8's stressing of eternal security, the consensus that you mention seems to be very strongly based in Scripture.
