What does it mean to 'study the Bible'?

@Nancy Prayer and the Scriptures in the believer's life are so very closely bound up together...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

I am not on the same page when it comes to what the church is; it began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to indwell. (Why not start another thread about what you want to talk about?)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

The context of the Leviticus 19 verse seems to be pagan necromancy. I don't see the church - which started at Pentecost and will be complete at the Rapture - going through the Great Tribulation in Matthew 24.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

I don't know why you keep coming to this thread and posting things which are completely off topic. (1 Cor. 11.26 - on the Lord's Supper - isn't talking about Israel.)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

There is a strong Jewish background to Matthew's Gospel and to Luke 21; in Luke 22, the Lord Jesus is at first speaking of the passover; only afterwards is He speaking of the Lord's Supper, which is for the church, which will be in a new era until the church is taken. Again, we are getting off...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

Off topic, in my humble opinion, because the events of Matthew 24 and Luke 21 seems to be about the period after the church has gone in any case.

    What is Legalism?

I'm not into law-keeping, period. I know the Reformed tradition - which tends not to distinguish between the church and Israel - tends to be.

God changed Seventh Day Sabbath Worship to First Day of the Week

@Ziggy: It's not just Pharisees who have added a burden of legalism to Scripture... (PS: Great header text there from Psalm 51...)

    'Good' in Genesis 1

@Ziggy Well, we know also what pleases God: Hebrews 13: '...working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight...' :)

    'Good' in Genesis 1

@Heart2Soul If there is absolutely no change despite a profession of faith, then one can question whether thee has really been a work of God there...

    'Good' in Genesis 1

@marks It's interesting that Paul to the Romans at the beginning and at the end speaks of 'obedience to the faith' and 'the obedience of faith': this is not a works-based, self-justification but indication of 'things that accompany salvation' (Hebrews 6.9).

Matthew 28:19 – Trinity corrupted verse

The New Testament is full of God in Three Persons: John's Gospel; Romans 8; John's First Epistle, etc.

@Mayflower Maybe you are right, yes, although also they probably don't realize that it was established in the Victorian Era, including among socially prominent women as well as men: ............ 'By the 1870s the tattoo trend had taken hold in mainstream society and even touched the upper...

@marks I'm not sure it's always an addiction, not by a long shot. (Though I suppose it can become that way with some ppl...) Angelina said, back a bit: I've talked to young people, male and female, with the whole of the wording of John 3.16 tattooed on their arm / wrist area. I guess I would...
