The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

It is surely personal with you. I have nothing bad to say about SDA and you did not answer my question; what's wrong with the SDA’s always talking about the Sabbath at every chance they get? Just because it is not your way does not make it the wrong way.

Which translation do you think is the best English translation?

Yes, God lied to over 400 prophets and commanded a Spirit do the lying on his behalf.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Jesus died. This is how we know he is not God. Do you believe God died?

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

What you wrote does not answer my question in the least little bit! Appeal to Dualism (Hypostatic Union - nowhere in Scripture, which is why you have to artificially synthesize many verses together; it's not in a verse). Jesus has only one nature according to Scripture, man. John 1:1 does not...

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

Why is that a problem? I do not believe the Son of God came to be executed on a tree to allow us to violate the 10C with impunity. To quote Thomas Jefferson, 'such beliefs neither pick my pocket nor break my bones.' I don't know what you mean about real test in comparison to violating the...

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

How frequently shall we allow hate speech and people saying offensive things before we require government approval before expressing ourselves? You seem to value life over liberty. I come from the ‘Give me Liberty or Give Me Death’ type of moderate.

Bible not coming "alive" to me anymore

Great post! A friend expressed a similar experience. The newness is bound to wear off. Now, it’s about endurance, finishing the race. Do not resist transitioning from the exciting new to the mature intentional energy.

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

What's wrong with that? I love downtime and quiet meditation and think our culture suffers from a lack of it.

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Why are you comparing? A is A. Good is good. I know I liked your point more than Jesus' point of cannibalism. John 6:50-61.

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

Playing the 'What if' game changes nothing. I don't own an umbrella for days that are not raining.

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

I'm glad you are looking to examples and evidence. Science disagrees with you about what you are aware of. The brain can take 30 years to mature. Not true! The constellations now are not what the ancients saw as we move through the galaxy and our galaxy moves toward an impact with Andromedia...

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Now, you are talking theoretical belief, absent empirical evidence. Many in AA credit a higher power with their recovery. Maybe there is truth to it. Yes, it is still you but the question is why would any rational person choose a life that is shorter and less joyful?

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

I must have written in an unclear way. The question of WHY was not meant to be metaphysics but ethics. Most people's ethics are informed by their religious convictions, e.g., the Golden Rule.
