@Prayer Warrior I hope you can keep your head down well if it's in your area...

    Is baptismal registration biblical?

Ephesians 5.26 speaks of 'the washing of water by the word'. Truth and the work of the Holy Spirit are not effected by a rite of water.

    Bible alone?

No, because it reduces God's Word to an ecclesiastic saying: "In my opinion..."

    The context of John 3:5

@Prayer Warrior This is why admire the well-manicured Christian ladies who, accustomed to gadgets and web recipes and well stocked supermarkets and regular hair and makeover sessions, are prepared to go overseas as missionaries in often primitive conditions where daily life may exist at a much...

    Is baptismal registration biblical?

The teaching of the new birth (John 3) shows it is by the Spirit.

    The context of John 3:5

@I guess out on the Asian Steppes, with the wide open spaces, Ghenghis Khan's warriors figured how to improvise... :)

    Bible alone?

@Prayer Warrior As opposed to Roman Catholics who traditionally looked to the hierarchy, the idea of Protestantism originally was to base faith upon the Bible rather than on tradition and what the ecclesiastical system told them.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Prayer Warrior Well, anyway the overwhelming evidence is that it's not just the tough guys and sailors and bikers that do it now, but also - often in order to receive faith based ink designs - it's the earnest preachers' daughters at college, the homeschooling moms, etc., who have evidently...

    Bible alone?

@Prayer Warrior This is important to remember. Someone wrote, 'The Bible and the Bible alone is the religion of Protestants.' (Even though some ppl called Protestants seem sadly to neglect it.) Psalm 119.89; Psalm 119.105; John 17.17.

    The context of John 3:5

@Prayer Warrior Well, apparently Ghenghis Khan's warriors would upturn their shields and light a fire under them and cook meat... :)

    Bible alone?

Denial of Sola Scriptura leads to elevating tradition and opinion above the Word of God, which is self-authenticating.

    Is baptismal registration biblical?

No. In Acts 2.41, those who were baptized had clearly already responded in faith to the Gospel.
  13. F

    Bible alone?

Protestants have long held that the Bible is self-authenticating. Even the Roman Catholic Church, though giving regard to the Deuterocanonical books, will agree about the Canonical books; and Bible-believing, Protestant Christians would say that a hierarchy is not needed to tell them what is...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@soul man It used to be a man thing years ago but now that it has become also such a woman thing to do what we are seeing really is that it's not because ppl are radicals or typical rebels that they do it, but because they are adults. So well established now is the fact that it's what...

    Present Truth

@soul man How we need the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth (John 16.13). The Lord Jesus said: "He shall testify of Me" (John 15.26). I seem to remember there was a magazine called 'Present Truth'.

    Paul's wisdom

@soul man Some of the depths of the cross are so solemnly amazing that the human mind cannot take it in properly; it in any case takes a work of the Holy Spirit to grasp the meaning of the cross. Someone wrote: "None of the ransomed ever knew How deep were the waters crossed, Nor how dark was...

    Tithing Or 2 Corinthians chs 8 & 9 - which is right?

It's a basic principle; Malachi, still under the old economy talks about the Levites; Hebrews 7 shows that they are gone, and shows what has taken their place. 1 Cor. 10.32 tells me there are Jews, Gentiles and the church of God. I don't see Gentile Levites. I don't see Levites in the church of...

    Tithing Or 2 Corinthians chs 8 & 9 - which is right?

If ppl want to give more than 10% of their income, more power to them; but....it comes back to basic dispensational principles: OT tithing was to be given to the Levites. Where are the Levites in the church today? Hebrews 7 tells us that the priesthood was changed. Today, in the pilgrim church...

    Cessastionism ,What is it?

Another way of defining (so called) Cessationism is to ask: Is the revealed Word of God sufficient?

    John Darby

Oh I love the Lord's Supper. "And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives". I see the passage you may be referring to; maybe I follow you better now; thanks.
