Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Rita A measured and good, reflective way of expressing it.

    Sovereign Grace

@marks "All of grace, yes grace surpassing Such a portion to bestow, But the love, all knowledge passing, Grace has taught us now to know. Love that bore the stripes and sorrow, Love that suffered on the Tree, Love that shares the bright tomorrow With the loved ones, you and me."

    Nita Strauss: Hope Grows

I really do like the title 'Hope Grows' of the piece of music; it really does blend with the calm and serene composition so skillfully played by Nita Strauss.

@Ron Coates Yes, there is a whole variety of interesting answers voted for; this is I guess why I started it.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Rita I think I see what you mean, yes. Just goes to show that when the moment came, after a very great deal of reflection when the tattoo machine did its work, just how personal and significant a moment it was, I suppose. You're right that we should not confuse symbols with the reality to...

    ‘those that oppose themselves’

Yes, I remember there are three voices in Greek: active, middle and passive, rather than two as in English.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Rita That's interesting. Some once said: 'context is co-text'; and I guess too that, in the journey of discernment which you refer to, the path to becoming inked up also was only a relatively small part, though at the time without doubt to you a stimulating and even liberating part, of your...

    Sovereign Grace

In relation to the term 'sovereign grace', a careful reading of Ephesians' first two chapters does bring a strong sense of grace being sovereign in God's wondrous workings in the sinner through the work of Christ, for His glory.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Rita As well as the word cultural, I would find it interesting if such a course included consideration of the term 'dispensational': I know they are not really into dispensational theology at LBC. (2c...)

@VictoryinJesus Interesting use of the phrase there also; I wonder if it's the same in the Greek also...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Nancy I guess GodsGrace's post kind of sums it up culturally now: While the terms 'girl' and 'type' could be substituted for others also, I guess GodsGrace has a valid point; and Rita used the word 'cultural', also. When it's definitely conservative ppl that are included among those that do...

    Addiction

I like to approach the topic of sobriety from the deeper perspective of it being inner and spiritual, begging the need for refreshing Bible study and prayer.
