    QUOTE for the day

“The people closest to you should not receive the leftovers of your Christianity. They should see its clearest evidence.” - Scott Roberts

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed this evening - “Transgenderism, homosexuality, etc. are sins, but that doesn’t mean we should avoid or hate homosexuals and transpeople. Jesus ate with tax collectors and prostitutes. How else can we reach the lost with love, truth, and the gospel?”...

CINO. (Christians in name only). That’s a mission field. What about Islam? Do you want to understand and engage with Muslims better? The Czar (not the Russian monarch; I’ve called my father that since the 70’s, but never to his face - he would have loved that!) served in the US Navy Reserve...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Thank you for clarifying. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it - in fact I would encourage it - but why do you want to learn about different varieties of Christianity?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You‘re an ex-Christian. Why do you want to learn about Christianity? I doubt that you know the primary reason why I’m here. (It’s not to learn about Christianity.)

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Did you ever have any desire to serve your country in the Navy? (I had a strong desire to serve my country in the Navy when I was a teenager. I wouldn’t have thought twice about killing you if our countries were at war and our ships met at sea. I would have done it in a heartbeat.)

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

    Is that why you’re here?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I know. People who’s faith is weak - mine isn’t, you’ve actually strengthened it - might be persuaded. So why are you here? I dig irony.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

“Nagai’s eyes moistened at the sad thought of what war does to families.” (Paul Glynn, A Song for Nagasaki, p. 136) I haven’t come to the part of his story yet when Takashi Nagai, a Catholic doctor who served in the Japanese army (two tours of duty in China), has the atomic bomb dropped on he...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

It’s about the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Harm%27s_Way If you had seen it you would have understood when I linked King Agrippa with Operation Skyhook, in reverse. ”Agrippa said to Paul, ‘Are you so quickly persuading me to become a...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I’ll try to remmeber that and use it if / when I quote scripture in conversation with you. Have you ever watched the movie, In Harm’s Way?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You’ve read the Bible. You know that it plainly answers your question. I was just thinking about King Agrippa. Care to guess why? Is there a particular translation of the Bible that you prefer to read?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You know which side of their argument I’m on.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

God didn’t lie. The devil lied. You can’t work it out and won’t be persuaded when it is worked out for you. Why are you asking the question?
  15. Matthias

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You offered us two choices. Right? On the one hand we have God, who cannot lie. On the other hand we have the devil, the father of lies.

Obviously. Before he replies, what do you think he’s going to say?
