How do you think Christians should interact with Mormons?

Oy vey! Evangelize, you call it? One thing I passionately hate is proselytizers. I prefer the experience I've had with Mormons much more than Catholics or Eastern Orthodox. And I prefer to live with them in Spirit, not lecture them endlessly about how their doctrines - IMHO - are wrong.

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Nah. Just not taking the bait of a bad translation. Saw an outstanding video explaining Judgment Day that carries eternal consequences. In other words, the righteous are not Judged every day everlasting as being righteous. And their are the damned. It's just that on that day there are eternal...

How do you think Christians should interact with Mormons?

Since believing Jesus is God is NOT a requirement for salvation in Scripture, it is confusing how so many conduct themselves as though it were. Identifying oneself as a Christian is crystal clear if one reads and understands Scripture. Jesus said Follow Me. People are Christian if they follow...

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Yet, none of your references refute soul sleep. "We" are our body's and Spirit. Jesus made it clear that he was not a ghost. Thomas touched his wounds, which means a bodily resurrection. I noticed you did not address the far more over-whelming evidence FOR Soul Sleep than the circumspect verses...

    You do nothing Good

I am shocked at how this thread has evolved, parsing our nature (being made in the image of God) with our need (for Christ). I could understand such appalling lack of discernment among unbelievers. Francis Bacon explained succinctly in secular terms, Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

The election process is the mystery of faith. To 'justify' people before they are born is the ultimate in bias and unfairness. No, I think the term does not apply in the election process unless one wants to misapply it, e.g., justified by preference in food, taste in music, faith, brands worn or...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Demonstrably untrue! The successors lack miraculous signs.

How do you think Christians should interact with Mormons?

Thank you Jane Doe. I kind of wish this forum had denominations for faith. "Christian" is too broad IMO. I worked with a Mormon some years ago. Once of the most decent people I have ever met. At home I have bookmarked a vid I could show you later. Unlike @michaelvpardo, I don't want to delve...

    You do nothing Good

We'll have to agree to disagree - on every part. There is a lot of good in this world as evidenced by 8 BILLION people living in it. Not only are there about 80x more people alive today than when Christ walked the Earth, the standard of living is better again ... wait for it ... IN EVERY...

    You do nothing Good

The answer to your question is yes! Money is the root of all good in the world besides love. Most people get paid to do good. The other day this guy made me dinner and all I had to do is give him a slip of paper. We both benefitted from the exchange. Business has done more good in the world...

    You do nothing Good

I confess it’d be easier to be a 1 if not for all the SOB’s in the world. I was stopped at a light yesterday during rush hour in the LH lane preparing to take a left. In the middle lane with a red light and 3 cars in front of him this SOB plows into them going about 40 mph. A 4 car ‘accident,’...

    Good apologists

The man is asking for wholesome milk not dry, crusted rotten solid food well along its way to putrification.

    Good apologists

It would help if you could explain the philosophical basis by which you realized theism is the proper world view?

Nation born in a day in 1948?

Yes, we do know Isra’el was born in one day in 1948. And I have no idea what your 2nd sentence is speculating.

    Tradition of men?

You are confused, as always. Confusing a specific command to be a general authority granted to your denomination. Re-read John 21:17 again. Peter was told to do something. Peter. Not the RCC as organized 15 centuries later. At best, the command applies to all the saints. At worst, only Peter...

    You do nothing Good

Untrue. One time, I met someone and I did not kill them. Yes, I take Jesus' statement as a reflection of the denominator rather than the numerator. Of course, we all do SOME good while still having an evil, sinful nature. Only God is good = only God is only good. His denominator of goodness =...
