    Crusades Began with Reconquista

“Sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4) “We do not use the weapons of the world.” (2 Corinthians 10:4) The followers of Jesus and the apostles do not support lawlessness and do not use the weapons of the world. It is the God-given role and responsibility of world governments, not the followers...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

I fault Job only where God himself faults Job. Lawlessness is never a good thing in the Bible. I utterly and unequivocally condemn lawlessness. You‘re free to believe that my statement confirms your belief that I support it, though I don’t have any idea how you arrive at that conclusion...

Okay, but I’m adamantly opposed to lawlessness.

What part of the church is a bunch of murderous thugs? You’ve already made that abundantly clear. I don’t dispute that that is what you believe.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

I am. I’m backing up with my question to the time of Jesus. Tiberius was the Roman Emperor in the days of his ministry. Did Jesus defend himself against evil?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

“Constantine is one of my favorite people.” - @rockytopva Let’s set Nero off to the side - we can’t completely ignore him though - and go to Constantine. (Substituting an emperor who is one of your favorite people for an emperor whom I can’t even imagine you thinking is one of your favorite...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Apparently this wasn’t clear. Romans 13 requires the governments of the nations - all nations - to defend their lands. An example from Paul’s day might help. The government of the Roman Empire - Nero, I’m looking at you - was required by Romans 13 to defend its citizens / land. How did it do?

Thank you for reading. It’s not complicated. Romans 13.

Historian shares how Islam really began

What can change the heart of a Muslim? The same thing that can change the heart of non-Muslims. Not the weapons of the world. The gospel of God.

What will European governments do? That’s a government issue. Romans 13. What will Christians do? Time will tell. What Christians are called to do is follow the teaching and example of Jesus and the apostles.
