Reminds me of the hymn, 'Have Thine own way, Lord', which mentions the potter and the clay.

There's no glory or credit in doctrine that ascribes to fallen man a supposed omnipotence that he does not have: it's truly a work of God: "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4.10).

What an amazing Epistle! all about Christ is indeed "better" than anything that went before or ever could be.

@marks Indeed; He is sovereign and also so merciful and pitiful.

What we need to do, instead of ppl arguing about their "rights", etc., is humbly to bow before the glorious fact that the Father indeed sent the Son to be the Saviour.

1 John 4 says: "We love Him, because He first loved us".

FYI: This is in German, but it's very clear, with the fine and intricate artwork that there is these days, it's really become rather mainstream and appreciated by rather conservative seeming people. (Hence also the overall context of the many tattoos that get done with faith & Bible themes.)
