    What millenials think of Christians

Well, Paul would say we need to keep looking forward, Christ-ward... 'And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.'

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Josho Really good answer! There's absolutely no need to get ear piercings. (That being said, there's probably no real reason not to if the young man as well as the young woman decides he or she wants to.)

    Hmm....

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Josho, Further to your comments on the other thread about how old you are on the one hand and how old you feel on the other, I suppose you would therefore say also that you are 'too old' now to get your earrings put in, right?

    What millenials think of Christians

@Josho: So at what age do you expect to become 'a middle aged man' or eve 'an old man'? :)

    Church Age

@Rita: Defining the gifts of the Spirit - Galatians and the fruit of the Spirit, come to mind - and the sheer essential power of the Holy Spirit, e.g., in Romans 8, working in Christian doctrine and experience - and (on the other hand) certain manifestations which occurred in transitional...

    What millenials think of Christians

LOL...What sort of tyranosaurus rexes (or how ever you spell it) must some of us seem, then... :)

    Proverbs

Some editions of the NT and Psalms have Proverbs included at the back also.

Poll: Does the mainstreaming of tattoos open up increasing opportunities for faith ink witness?

Hi @Webers_Home ; back a bit you said: Well, exactly; but it's inherent to the culture of North American fundamentalism for ppl to assume sweepingly that their own subjective personal preferences (as opposed to the true Biblical doctrines of the faith) are the only supposedly "theological"...

How Far Will They Go Before Action is Taken?

Plenty of trouble is caused by a short fuse. Apparently the repulsive Dr Goebbels thought Hitler was wonderfully inspired and creative when Hitler had his 'anger moments'. (Mrs. Goebbels poisoned her children because she could not bear to think of them living in a world without Hitler.) (And...

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Giuliano Thanks for the 'like'; I actually added a sentence after you clicked 'like'.

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

I think that there is a peculiarly North American strand of fundamentalism by which, with certain ppl among them having already decided that their own personal preferences are the only supposedly true "theological" option worldwide, they proceed to try to make Scripture conform to those personal...

    What Changed?

It would seem so, just in time... An application for today would be in reminding ppl of the urgency of the Gospel.

    What Changed?

@Nancy Evidently he was given the grace of repentance just in time... There is the saying: "True repentance is never too late; Late repentance is seldom true."

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Renniks Conversely, also, today, for honest and reasonable young men - whether or not they may have spiritual interests, as they may well have - it's a very natural turn of events to have their earlobes shot through with studs, possibly like their peers do (and — if the truth is known —...

The Mark of the Beast (what it really is explained)

In WW2, lots of ppl tried to claim that Mussolini's regime was the revived Roman Empire; then when they hanged him and his lady friend from a lamp post in Italy, they didn't come back and say, Hey we were wrong. By then some of them had gotten to the fact that the State of Israel had been...

    Church Age

Matthew 24 does not seem to be talking about the church, in any case.

    Church Age

@Rita, Indeed, this would be my understanding of dispensational distinctives, remembering also that the Word of God is now complete (I would also see the context of the original sign gifts in Acts as being in the transitional Apostolic period when the Word of God was not yet complete.)

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Helen, Given their ultimate purpose and positively mentioned use in these passages, I suppose it could be argued that it was maybe a good thing, in the event, that both the women and the men did have the custom of wearing earrings. While there is no need for men to wear earrings, if a young...
