Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Romans 8.38-39 and John's First Epistle speak strongly of the true believer's eternal security and assurance.

    Moving in God

What people called evangelicals ought to be looking for is not publicity, but holiness and being in the current of the Lord's Scriptural leading.

    Servants, Prayer, And Leaders

Prayer is such a deep theme in Paul's writings... Most humbly, in 1 Thess. 5.25 he says: 'Brethren, pray for us'.

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

If one follows through the themes of creation redemption and sanctification in the New Testament - especially in John's Gospel - one sees that all Three Persons of the Trinity are involved.

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Ephesians 5.26 speaks of 'the washing of water by the word'. (This hardly portrays so called clergy supposedly bringing eternal life to a person on contact with water...)

I do love that 'Magnificat' passage in Luke; I myself have often been refreshed by it.

More Christian tattoo artists a positive development?

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Baptism is not mentioned in John chapter 3. I don't believe in baptismal regeneration. Clearly from Acts 2.41, people were baptized because they believed the Gospel; they didn't get baptized in order to believe.

    Pharisees Seeking A Sign

I guess the point is to make sure of repentance, rather than to keep looking for signs.
