People have different personal stories and convictions. I guess the matter of whether he should do ice dancing would be in some ways similar to other career decisions that Christians make. I can think of a lot of examples.

Some ppl say faith based tattoos are in order to speak to others; I guess for some ppl they are supposed to be a personal reminder. (This is a general point, only; matters of doctrine are highly important; and people with faith related tattoos and without them may be in agreement/disagreement...

@michaelvpardo Thanks; actually I've heard the term you mention only in reference to the lower back; rather than to the fact that women are tattooed at all (as 59%-70% of parlor clients at parlors in North America bear out, statistically.)

@michaelvpardo Yes, art -whether someone else's but especially one's own - can exude a lot of peaceful - but also stimulating - feelings.

@michaelvpardo Do you think that in a general sense at least, these days it would be widely regarded as all part of the flourishing of a wife's personality? Including with Christian wives. (Leaving aside for a moment the difficulties you mentioned also.)

I can see that metaphorically you have applied to yourselves what you said in the post, above: "I am an ardent fan of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and love to watch the celebrities grow in confidence during the weeks spent learning and competing."

Very perceptive wording. For a Christian husband, it should be wonderful to be able to see his wife flourish. I like the point also:

Nice, thought-provoking post. Fits in well with your post #19, above. So are there any episodes of Come Dancing that that struck you as particularly illustrative of what you're saying?

I do think there is ample Scripture for all the Points of Calvinism, but what Scripture reveals in totality is broader than what is contained in them. This is one reason why I am not too keen on putting too much confidence in abstract logic.

Don't you think that tattoos are in a sense a 'snapshot' of one's state of mind at the time? Then, again, it's good to plan well and be sure that what the tattoo expresses is truly relevant permanently. (This is also why the age aspect of the question and poll is kind of relevant, I guess.)
