    Heart talk

Reminds me of Romans 8.15: 'For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.' The cry of the heart in such a tremendous chapter full of wondrous truth!

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

You've also mentioned Mrs. firstthings1st; so did she ever consider any ink? (It's very widespread now, though years ago the ladies didn't do it so much.)

    Your favorite Psalm?

Reminds me of John's Epistle, about loving not in word only, 'but in deed and in truth' (1 John 3.18).

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

A lot of Christians find faith based ink a very effective conversation-starter in witness. But I guess you chose not to get any more ink, after your unsuccessful experiment?

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

Yes, exercising the role of tattoo artist is a responsible position of trust. After tattoos having been almost exclusively a man thing for so long, it's now also being proved over and over that the receiving and the giving of ink is a very womanly thing to do, at which women may excel.

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

So did you later get other tattoos?

    Your favorite Psalm?

Thanks for your comment; as I said, I'm glad this Psalm thread has revived.

    Your favorite Psalm?

I'm glad this thread has revived. The Psalms are so varied and expressive and God honoring.

    Infinite Regress

The point is not to rationalize in order to decide whether to believe; it is to accept and trust the revelation of what Scripture declares.

Hard to plan if sudden changes are made in this way...

    Heart talk

What immediately comes to mind about what you say, following on, is that 2 Corinthians 1.3-4 suggests a real ministry for you personally: 'Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that...

    Heart talk

@Heart2Soul YW; Psalm 51's searching nature seems on a par with Isaiah 48.10: 'I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.' It sounds as if you have gone through a deep, perennial anguish of spirit following your experience; what Isaiah tells us is not that avoidance of affliction is what...

    Your favorite Psalm?

    @Heart2Soul FYI.....

    What a searching Psalm!

    Does this apply to you?

Clearly there are aspects / stages to the Lord's coming. Matthew 24 is about wrath and judgment on earth. 1 Cor. 11.26/John 14/1 Thess. 4 seem to relate to the church being caught up in the air. I personally wouldn't think it is helpful to lump all the stages / aspects all together.

    Receiving God's Love

We do indeed need to keep the Godward perspective uppermost. "We love Him, because He first loved us."

    Having a rough time . . .

Philippians does indeed make for a wonderful study.

Ear piercing: for sons as well as for daughters: is it appropriate? (plus poll)

Nor me either. At our church various young men happen to wear earrings; and among those that come from time to time they would almost be in the majority, I suppose. It's a very widespread custom in some areas, especially among immigrant families. It's basically one of those things that in some...

    Having a rough time . . .

Philippians is a good Epistle to read when going through trials and suffering.

    'The Messenger of The Covenant'

Great verse there; we were thinking about it last Lord's Day.
