One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

The taking of the saints is not the 2nd coming. You did not know that? The taking happens BEFORE his return...this is how you see them return with Christ per Rev 19 and Zech 14.

One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

Wrong. Paul quoted Jesus in sequence per the OP. Now, Paul speaks of the catching away first,... ...we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, Jesus says the same... ...Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41...

I see. Some must repent and be baptized and some need not repent and be baptized. LOL

I can see how quoting scriptures irks those that baptize unrepented babies "unto death".

Thank you for properly representing the words of Jesus in Mark 16:16.

That is why baptism is pure per Acts 2:38 only.

No, baptism is a burial fella. Read Romans 6.... 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:... Don't kill the babies anymore, okay?

Baptism represents death. You are baptizing "dead" babies?

Shouldn't the children repent(die) first to be reborn?

One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

Yes, that is why I posted the OP. It clarifies the saints are taken and sinners left behind, as Paul(1 Thes 4) quotes Jesus(Matt 24).

The UPC has doctrinal errors but is the best thing going to insist on Acts 2:38. I gave up teaching the incarnation idea of both trinity and oneness, also tithe teaching, but the rest is basically okay(with some exceptions). Trinity is worse off than oneness as far as doctrinal arguments.

Yes. Nobody skips Acts 2:38...not even the President.

Your doctrinal view of Acts 2:38... Then Peter said to the adults that were baptized as babies, repent, and get rebaptized in the titles for the remission of sins you had since your infant baptism.

I was radically saved the Acts 2:38 way on Oct 7, 1979.

No, Cornelius and kin were led to salvation by the Spirit of truth they just received, to lead them into all truth, when they were immediately baptized.

Yes. Now, does that mean those that are not saved automatically go to hell? No, I think baptism for salvation is an "insurance policy" to bypass the white throne judgement. I am not much of a gambler, and like assurance upon my death.

I prefer UPC as my home church. Have you ever heard of the Search for Truth home Bible study course? I taught that for decades.
