God's Word does ""not"" teach that baptism is essential for salvation.

No, he was thanking God for letting others do the baptizing, so they would not think they were "of Paul". He was smart.

God's Word does ""not"" teach that baptism is essential for salvation.

Saved before baptism? Jesus said ..."and is baptized shall be saved".(Mark 16:16) Peter said.... "be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins".(Acts 2:38) Romans is an Epistle. An Epistle is a letter to post salvation saints, not sinners. Modern Christendom began...

Were you dying in the desert? That is what the last post was referring to. Happy T day to you also.

God's Word does ""not"" teach that baptism is essential for salvation.

Receiving Christ is receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost per Acts 2. One cannot receive Him any other way. Especially by dying in the desert.... Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

God's Word does ""not"" teach that baptism is essential for salvation.

To qualify for Romans one must go through Acts 2:38. It is not a coincidence in the order the N.T. was placed for the reader, but deliberately done....Acts before Romans etc.

One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

Amen to everything except animals... 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs,...

One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Everything we know of will be eliminated and remade from scratch. The New Jerusalem city in Rev 21/22 depicts this heavenly city. This city will be within the new heaven. So technically, we are going to heaven.

    Isaac and Ishmael

You are reading a bunch of commentary that is not scriptural. Don't believe them, especially Strong's commentary fake redefinitions. Only believe your Bible.

I understand now. That's cool, but Canaan was Eden? Sarah threw her into the garden? Check your sources better my friend.

One taken to heaven and the other left to face the Tribulation...

Did you know that the rapture verse Paul was speaking of in 1 Thes 4 was actually a quote of Jesus' words in Matt 24 (one taken the other left)? Did you know that the rapture was common knowledge among the saints and not a special revelation to Paul? Paul speaks of a taking to heaven...

Is holiness actually attainable in this life? Can a man cease from all sin?

Yes, if I pray more, the sinful desires weaken, and if I pray less, the sinful desires overtake me. The Holy Spirit needs to stay close to our human spirit to give us the victory over carnality and sin.

Is holiness actually attainable in this life? Can a man cease from all sin?

I think the Romans 7 thing is all about explaining how our spirit is saved but our flesh(carnal man) is not. Romans 8 shows us how to cultivate the human spirit that is saved. Our flesh has a mind of it's own, and will always oppose God. Our human spirit must daily subdue the carnal flesh man...
