Well, I don't see the rapture as illogical at all, actually; it's the logical conclusion and result of the believer's separation from the world: what is true in principle becomes true in practice also.

Well, he lived before Pentecost, anyway, so it wouldn't have been indwelling in the same sense as born again believers in the church. (My understanding is dispensational.)

All born again believers are indwelt, as Romans 8 makes it clear. But yes we do need to be filled with the Spirit.

@Taken FYI, did you see the poll?

It means that the believer in the Lord Jesus goes straight to be with Him when passing from this life. (You know, I think the Brexit business in the UK is almost like theologians arguing. Those who don't like the result of the referendum say it's unclear; those who won say it means, Out.)

I think he is referring to: "Absent from the body"; 'present with the Lord". (But I can't speak for @Enoch111 .)

I do tend to the literalist approach unless there are very, very strong reasons why not.

With Revelation 22 we can say, 'Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.'

@Enoch111 I do think that those who take an allegorical view of prophecy symbolism end up having to explain away a lot of Scripture.

The reference was probably to the idea that a lot of prophecy was fulfilled in AD70.

Matthew 24 indeed confirms that the great tribulation will be a unique time.
