In Acts 2.41 people were baptized as a symbol because they believed; because they had already gladly received his word; they were not baptized in order to become believers. Baptism is an important symbol, yes.

The Lord indeed did rise again bodily. The fact that one confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is also something that marks a true believer, in 1 John. Yes, the opened ears (i.e., Hebrew: 'digged' = pierced) is an eloquent picture of the Lord's incarnation and obedient servanthood...

I would hope that true Christians would indeed believe this. I do think it's a pity that so many professing Christians seem rather cynical about sincerely trusting God's Word about future events and His sovereign control over them.

Frank Lee: Do you like, or can you at least understand, why a lot of Christian young ppl seem increasingly to get Bible verses tattooed on their skin? (My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed om her wrist area; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also...

If ppl try hard enough they will find ingenious ways around doing anything, it seems...
